    Beastmen quest-line boring now

It seems like this patch introduced a lot of time-sinks and grinding, but stopped having RPG elements. Sylphs had an okay final quest with a dude dressed as a chocobo. Amaljaa had a great "Luke, I am your mother" moment and some DBZ "I'll kill this dude by myself" moment, but Kobolds... Alchemy, I hate this dude, done. Nothing fun.

Why not make the white kobold chick something made with alchemy? She could be a clone and could have died, then when the dude kobold finds out, a tear leaks out his helmet and the final quest is vs. some giant furnace that whispers creepy shit and spawns messed up things. Maybe make the white kobold go into a furnace with a /thumbsup like the end of Terminator 2. Maybe make some "hard" jokes. I dunno, something fun or funny or engaging. Make some kinda effort to keep the RPG elements of an MMORPG, please, ESPECIALLY when you throw tons of grinding at us with no levity in its wake.

Beastmen quests are extremely tedious faceroll timesinks anyway. I'd rather the development time be spent on actual interesting content.

Uhh... did I miss when Terminator references and "hard" jokes became the go to RPG elements of MMOs?

The Kobold quest line is about character development. A wuss learning his self worth and the value of those around him and standing up to a stronger antagonist to protect the person he cares for.

i havent finished the kobold questline yet, but im close. but i do agree with OP.

the sylphs story was directly involved with the good sylphs vs the tempered ones, and their struggle. the amaljaa was a story that involved the good amaljaa and sort of- just how benelovent and honorable they are. the kobold story is simply a love story like the tailor's questline/story. it has nothing to do with kobolds in particular, it could feature any person of any race in any situation. it doesnt give a deeper look into kobold lifestyle or their troubles, its simply an individual kobold's story.

It doesn't give any insight into the kobold lifestyle?

I think it does a pretty good job of providing insight into the particular capitalistic meritocracy that Kobold society is built upon. Those kobold with the most wealth and skill, or the ability to manipulate those skilled around them and take the credit, move up in society while those who lack are relegated to the dregs.

They also provide insight to the fact that not all Kobold are implicit in how their society treats some individuals when even those in more comfortable higher ranking orders are willing to strike out against the powerful yet undeserving in their society.

well if thats what happens, then i have alot to look forward to, doing the dailies. but if it takes more than rank3 reputation to figure all of that out, like what was said, there's little motivation to do them besides the rewards, until after rank 3 apparently.

Ya since 2.2 I'm doing 3 kobold and 3 sahagin each day to keep them even. Just did the level 3 quest for each yesterday. I quit paying attention to the kobold story a long time ago. I just can't stand the way they talk or what it's about. The sahagin one is pretty interesting though.

I disagree, I've personally enjoyed all the beastmen quests. The kobolds make me laugh, and the sahagin's motives are interesting.

There is some confusion for me though...I'm still not sure if the beastmen I'm fighting during the dailies are tempered or not. Is this explained later? (without spoiling it for me, please!)

I don't think they are, they're just indifferent to their tempered brethren. It is a pretty noticeable switch in tone from the Amalj'aa and Sylphs for sure, though. In those two, it was about the conflict between those who were and weren't tempered, and how each race dealt with it. The Sahagin and Kobolds seem to be more about their society rather than conflict within, with the Sahagain we meet wishing for peace for the sake of both their children and the children of Lominsans, and the Kobolds climbing the societal ladder. Admittedly, I'm not even passed the first rank with either of them, but that's what I've gathered so far.
