Might be interesting like in XI once got high enough level you could go exploring places solo that you couldn't go before alone but that world was actually worth exploring. Half the dungeons in XIV I never want to set foot in again unless I have to.

as long as all drops and gil/exp gain is removed then sure. the only thing you get is a timer for a time ranking thing and nothing else.
As others have stated as long as drops, Gil and XP was removed so rmt couldn't abuse it for power leveling, sure, would be handy for those times you need a tiny bit of the Map for explore achievement that nobody seems to want to do .. I'm looking at you haukke manor upstairs room!
I would however wish they added a way that once you clear a dungeon it could transform into something else, like once you clear it your able to go back in on say miner and mine special nodes that were not there before or an exclusive fishing spot in Brayflox where you can fish up pets or accessories that are useful
Currently:
100 people (25 tanks, 25 healers, 50 DPS) queuing up for 4 man content = 25 instances for the server to manage.
Proposed by the OP:
100 people (100 random mixture of jobs) solo queuing up for 4 man content = 100 instances for the server to manage.
So...who's ready for dungeon queues to skyrocket?
Even the folks who are trying to queue 4 man content would be affected because now their pool of people is smaller.

Yeah, I don't support the idea. Several players already stated several reasons.
Plus giving safe farms for Gil farmers to farm without risk of their bots being spotted and reported.

I have a question, that is in the same realm of this discussion. Do you think it would be possible for SE to do a reverse sync? I'm thinking something akin to what CoX has with their mentoring system. They kept their current skills, although, they were boosted to the level of their mentor. Just thinking it may be an option for them to create a system like this given their desire for us to do older content to assist the people who are just now starting.
seems good idea for vanity farming but rather then solo i would like the ability to run it with 2 retainers + chocobo now that would be awesome :PI'm sure this topic has been covered before but the mods dislike necroposting so I was hoping to bring it up again now that item levels have increased.
I'd really like the ability to solo-queue into non-level 50 dungeons without having to level sync. I know it's already possible to get into a dungeon with friends and have them drop immediately but it's a bit of a hassle. If lack of level sync would be too imbalanced, at least remove the ability lockout and allow us to use all of our abilities at a lower level. I think this would be a cool way of preserving older content as people outgear it. Keep in mind that this would be separate from regular Duty Finder versions of the dungeon for people who are still leveling. Add a leaderboard for clear times or something and it could be cool!
juts a side note for those ppl arguing with MMO .... are we really playing an MMO ? where can you see more then 8 ppl if we wont count FATEs ? even LoL and DOTA have more then that, we just have lobby with graphics, also, if you have more then 200 ppl in friends in LoL you can even argue you see more ppl in LoL at the same time then in game in revtol
No. Dungeons are intended to be group content. The game is already too solo-friendly as it is.
I don't understand the argument about people being able to farm gear as if that is a bad thing. What does that matter at all? Being able to gear a class that will outlevel the gear quickly? You can already get HQ crafted or GC gear that gives you great stats as it is. The MMO argument is pretty bad as well. There is a ton of solo content available in this game, not everything is done in groups. This kind of feature wouldn't need to detract from the DF pool either. Just make sure it doesn't award tomes or exp and you are set, the only ones who will do it are those doing it for fun or vanity.
I'd love for this to become a thing. One mechanic change I'd add to the solo-dungeon version is to remove enrage timers. This would be especially cool years down the road when we have higher level caps and people try and find ways to solo stuff like coil.
