Lost text on map - ps4

Somehow I managed to turn off the hover-over text for FATEs and quest markers on the big map. I still can see the text for towns and stuff. How do I get this back? I've clicked all the icons to the left of the big map without success, but maybe I'm missing something obvious. Is there a keyboard button that changed this?

I also don't have any hover-over text with the marketboard icons anymore. Is this related?

I just swapped from ps3 to ps4 about a week ago and am still figuring things out (or messing them up, I should say.)

Go to Main Menu -> Sytem -> Character Configuration -> HUD Setup. There are selection tickboxes to hide / show (some of) the HUD elements - you most likely deselected one there.

Hm, the HUD is for on screen elements such as the map itself. It doesn't seem to include details such as text ON the map. I've gone though character config too to see if there is something obvious I'm missing. :/

There are a number of buttons along the left side of the map itself that do a variety of things. I forget if one of them is connected with your issue, but I think it probably is. I know I turned off map transparency with one of those buttons without realizing it and was confused about it for weeks.

Just went and checked. The eye icon is a 3 phase toggle that removes region names first, if hit again it removes everything else, and again it brings everything back.

I'm not in front of the game right now so pardon me if I use the wrong terminology for the names of menus and such, but I am pretty sure that there is an option, maybe in System Configuration, that allows you to alter the text/text size on the map. It's either in Character Config. or System Config.

In case anyone else needs it, the correct check box for this is "Pop Up Help" (not exactly intuitive there) in Character config. I thought this was for something similar to the Active Help boxes that crop up in the beginning of the game, so I had turned it off.
