    Why arent support people on the forums?

    Seriously. I havent been able to play with any reliability because I kept getting super slow black screen launcher since Monday and yesterday SE releases what they called a patch which broke damn near everything including their support platform. So instead of just a super slow launcher I and many many people are now completely locked out of the damn game for going on two days getting nowhere with the launcher, getting the -2146697205 error, and being unable to properly redownload or patch this game.

    Normally in a situation like this where you broke everything including your support platform a company would send their agents to the forums in an attempt to help its players fix the mistakes they caused. Well not SE instead their solution is to open a phone bank with extremely limited hours and i can only assume next to no one answering the phone. So now those of us unable to play the game have to sit on our hands and hope SE can ever get their damn platform fixed so that we can actually get some support and try and get back into the game within the next 2 months, or try and find a time we have three hours to waste in the middle of the day and pray you can actually get through on the phone lines.

    So yeah why aren't support agents on the forums at a time like this? SE broke everything including their support platform with this patch and the solution of wait for it to get fixed which could take weeks, or find three hours at work and hope your boss doesn't catch you while you sit on hold aren't acceptable. I really want to play this game and even gave it a second chance, but stuff like this is going to chase me away again. I pay a monthly sub and shouldn't have to wait god knows how long for online to get fixed or waste half of my day on the phone.

    Instead of posting a question like this, go to the bug report forum and ask why it's not working. I played all night last night with many FC members. Didn't seem to have any problems there. Could be your download got corrupted during patch. Never looked, but does the patcher have a repair option? Other alternative might be needed to redownload all of FFXIV. If you do that, don't delete your old install, just move it to another location until you are sure that you need to download everything again.

    I did go the the support forum. There was absolutely no SE presence and it was just other users trying to guess what was wrong. I've also done everything humanly possible on my end to fix this including every suggestion made on the forums and redownloading the game from both the disk and online. The furthest I've gotten is about 30% on one of the first patches before it stops downloading. That's only if I actually get the chance to log in though. 11 times out of 10 I can't even try to log in because the launcher stays black screen until it gives me the -2146697205 error that no one besides SE understands or knows how to fix.

    This is all pretty crappy, but what makes it the worst is the fact that to get this fixed since I can't do it on my own and because there's absolutely no SE presence on the support forums is to wait another 3 weeks for them to fix their platform or wait 2 more hours for the phone support to open and then pray to god I can actually talk to someone before it closes 9 hours later.

    that error and many like those in the launcher aren't new. They relate to 2.2 that brought them back. I've been getting those issues before 2.25 and no one replied to it back then either.

    Redownloading doesnt work, it never has with this issue as this issue is launcher related. In other words it at Square Enix's end of it all, not ours. The error is also heavily random. one day it happens, the next it doesnt. It is getting annoying. oh and they do have support forums, just there support people never talk there, there mods move everything to fixed or alternative support needed, without any solutions or whatever. There chat support is horrid and they suggest calling your ISP for every fricking issue.

    Well I've already called my isp when I saw others were getting to play and it's not on their end, I also have the best and fastest for my area so there's no way it's anything on my end. I'm getting ready to cancel my sub again if I can't get any support. No reason to pay for something I can't play or get help fixing

    Here is a question for you.. are you using Mozilla Firefox and Hola? if so, turn Hola off.
