If you'll pardon me for being blunt... Please understand, I'm not trying to attack you, I'm just trying to explain... it's not just second coil and Levi ex+

It's first coil, any EX primal, even some HM primals depending on the specific party... You may be able to clear those, but you're putting a *lot* of extra work on the other healer on something that's supposed to be a team job...

If you're just doing 4-person content and have i90+ on your left side, you have plenty of curing power... people will question it but it's adequate...

It kind of sucks if you want to try nontraditional builds but roles are very strongly defined in this game and for 8-person content, it really punishes parties that lack in any of the 3 areas (DPS, tanks, heals..). Even if you can clear them, you're hurting the rest of your party and especially the other healer by choosing such a build...

But if all you're doing is PvP and an AK or WP here and there, game on...

kinda sad how this game is very straight line and you cannot do anything else with your class than intended.
afaik, wasnt ninja not a tank class in ffxi? but worked as such anyways so ppl just stuck to it.
you have very littly variety in this game to go off course.
im waiting to see a PLD tank, and a WAR dps and see how that goes since lots of ppl though
MRD/WAR was a DPS back in the day xD

I do agree this game lacks variety and flexibility in viable builds. But it is how they designed it. After the hot mess of 1.0 I can see why they decided to be more straightforward, even too restrictive in build options. But you have to play the game as it was designed, that's all there is to it. If you are looking for a game where you can mess around with random builds all day, Diablo III is pretty good these days after the Reaper of Souls expansion.

I added over 30-40ish ppl on my friends list ranging from kinda friends from release date - high end crafters - nice ppl i met in pf - some pvp ppl - and some nice ppl i met solely on the fact that we just randomly talked about canity gear and new ideas etc.
I tried ffxivarr cuz i was hoping that it would be awesome to ride chocobos with friends, kill stuff in a big party with ppl you knew since day 1, crowded areas that feel somewhat alive, the typical mmo feeling.
But since i never played an mmo before i was in for an unpleasant surprise. I ended up playing the game mostly alone which was not my fault as everyone was busy with things ( real life, coil, gathering, etc )
I was like wtf.... If i wanted to play alone i would play a single player game and not an mmo.
People in this game are so protective of their clique that if anyone new tries to assimilate themselves into tht said group they will most likely be shunned then removed.

Not completely true, if you even just wore mnd accessories and kept the 30 vit, I'm pretty sure no one would care at all. Most people do suggest 30 vit or even hybrid mnd and vit to those who cannot survive.

That is more of pre abyssea ffxi type feeling. But then again you would probably be left out because you would want to be a meleeing whm.

I do recommend Neverwinter if you are interested in being a tanky healer. You can tank like a whole room full of adds while still be a beast healer.

Edit: I kind of figured... From the sound of it, though... Well, I would kill to have a XIV mostly as is, but with all that open world stuff (and a way to keep friends made through the duty finder when we do use it)

It had its bad corners of the community too obviously but XI was fun. Even there it had it's endgame gamers who preferred certain roles/sub-classes and such. (Jeuno was the area I can say that felt the most 'alive' out of the bunch though you'd see players in other cities too but not as much as Jeuno.)

People solo'd all the time, there were powerlevelers who were paid to heal you while you leveled and people would do /ninja to level other classes all the time, beastmaster was a soloable class as well. They also had made books to make solo'ing a little easier pre-abyssea. (not trying to pick a fight, just i remember some other small details as well.)

It is just 2nd coil & levi ex, i literally have no problem in everything else infact the other healer is undergeared than me half the time.
I have i90 head, i100 body,i90 waist, i90 hand, i90 waist, i100 feet
And both sets of i90 healer and tank accessories along with the i100 ribbon of healing.
So i honestly don't see why ppl r so fussy with me when i simply switch accessories.
If we are struggling on mog ex, etc then i switch to healer mode gear, if we are doing good then i go half and half.
Why can't ppl understand that i have both sets of accessories just incase if things go bad.

You don't seem to understand how friendship works in a game. Its a two-way street; you give and take. In this game, that means raiding with people, helping people on dungeon runs, supplying crafts/mats or something similar. You have to prove to others that you are someone to keep around.

Being a liability, like you are as a tanky WHM, loses "friends" fast. You are causing everyone else to work harder, and people do not like that; having friends to raid with is supposed to make things easier since you aren't relying on crappy randoms, not harder. There's only so much supplying/conversation you can give before people stop taking you to dungeons/raids because you're underperforming so much.

I have a wide circle of friends and people I can call on for many things. I don't get friends for doing nothing, I get them by showing others something I can offer, and to keep them, I have to keep showing them that I am still valuable. Same things happen in real life; you don't stay friends with people just because, you have to maintain the friendship. One-sided "friendships" do not last.
