Cool So many recruiting threads.. Hi, how are you?

Good evening Cactuar Server... I've been on here since Beta and am curious as to establish more of a friendly server based chat, not pure recruiting but as to what people are thinking of the game, advice on going further, general non-sense instead of just "Join my FC!" etc. . .

How is everyone enjoying gardening? New materia thing that I should unlock tomorrow, PvP gear?

FFXI had a well based establishment of people just.. bsing, at least on KillingIfrit. So I ask you all, how are you?

    - Sir Percival.

HI IM Vahl. I'm really judgmental and bad at the game, according to most people on the server (that I've never met before). I hate Mor Dhona because it's super crowded with noobs in half soldier/half darklight geared people with the other half of the zone pop being fat chocobos and naked miqotes. I like North Fallgourd though, it's pretty, it's got trees and birds which is good because I never go outside so it's nice to hear them in game. I was also world first to clear Turn 5 on every role, so I used to have a huge e-penis but now I just play whm and cast regen on peeps. I also give $10,000 Gillars to people who put on good emote shows for me because I'm rich.

I don't know that sounds kind of like hardcore grind-fest instead of a skill thing, more reason to dislike WoW

Hi percival, it's funny to run across this because I was just feeling a little burnt out on the whole of the game, or at least life on cactuar. I've run into soooo many people recently who are only interested in the business of the grind, progression or otherwise. Little, if any, random chat or casual discussion. Lots of angry farmers being angry at farming while farming angrily. Maybe I've had shit luck with the community, or maybe I've become part of the problem by becoming reclusive, but I miss dunes/barrens style banter. I currently love most of the mechanics and game design. I actually adore FATES, probably because I've never used them as a level grinding tool and as of now only have one atma weapon. What I'm missing in game is the feeling of community. Not progression dot inc, but the feeling of interaction. Nice to know others are out there just wondering how everyone's doing. =D

I havent even beaten turn 5 on any of my jobs or Titan Extreme. While I do want to progress I do miss the, as you say dunes banter. It was a major part of FFXI I liked. The real community, not just people seeking raiding... while I understand its part of the game, I kind of miss that 8hr lfg sitting at an outpost getting to know people. Its how shit got done and people connected.

D: hit me up in game anytime.

Sorry to hear some people are having this issue; from a global perspective or even a marketing perspective you're entirely right. Yet the community is alive. The thing and unfortunate as it sounds, for people to immerse themselves in a community that potential exists or not; they need to proactively push themselves and make friends/acquaintances. A way to mitigate this is to find a stellar FC or LS, that caters to your needs whether it is a social, hard-core, semi-core, role playing, chill or any other type of fc/ls. Most importantly, the biggest question is this.. Can you call them Family?

Building long-lasting relationships is something to be treasured in MMO's although getting discouraged because individuals leave will always happen it's the life of an MMO unfortunately. Lastly, to find a community you're looking for; best advice I can give you if you cannot find one. Make one, inspire, encourage, motivate be the transformational/charasmatic leader people are looking for. Build a home build a family boss. Its were memories are made. If you are unwilling or don't possess the time to do so, there is one FC that I consider home outside of my own (COBRA) is Undercon lead by the infamous Rai sweetheart and an amazing community of gamers.

    One love.

I definitely will, Sir. Right now I'm gearing irl to go on vacation for a week, but I'll shoot ya a message next Sunday or Monday when I get back.

Vitt... I appreciate the sentiment and I agree wholeheartedly. The empassioned approach is easily recognized as the swiftest means to the desired end. I am recognizing that what I seek used to be mitigated by the substantial downtime we saw in a previous generation of games and the cynical nature of particularly loud elements of the community sometimes tend to spoil the initial flavor, as it were. Thank you for the nudge in a good direction. If ya ever have need for a healer or dps, maybe even tank one of these days, or even just want to chat, feel free to hit me up. You seem like good people.

    Take care,
    Skander Vidal
