Soldiery Tome shield worth it?

I am not on the game right now, and cant remember the name right now...
but is the soldiery shield worth it?
i currently have my zenith weapon. working on zodiac but its ALONG ways off. have not had a single atma drop yet and was at it for hours.
i am still working on myth gear.
is the shield worth it?
i have read that the soldiery priority for a paladin right now is Shield > Body > Ring?
content-wise I am ilvl 76 and running CT. I have not done coil yet or the extreme modes yet.

Holy Shield Animus ( which only requires 2 books after atma farm) is the same iLvl, I'd just skip the shield and shoot for that in your position.

Even if you did want the shield, I'd highly contest putting the shield over the body and ring purchase. Both are BiS if upgraded, and both give a slightly better vit -> Sold stones spent than the shield. I'm personally not going to purchase the shield until one of the last purchases.

I think the shield is worth it. The block rating goes down slightly meaning you will black less, but the block strength is significantly higher: I jumped from 27% damage reduction to a 38% damage reduction per block.

I purchased first and have loved it ever since.

It's also upgradeable to 110 via SCoB drops whereas the animus is stuck at 100.

Animus isn't done at i100 and you could use the upgrade sand on your sol body.

personally, I don't like Tower type shield, so I stay away from it. I prefer Buckler shield. prolly have to change to Kite shield some time since there no i110 buckler T_T.
using wave shield atm and loving it I'm solo tank T8 with it and got no issue, but it prolly not suit for T9 (unless I got my avg high a lot higher LOL)

What I like about Buckler shield the most is that it block a lot so my Shield Swipe is up quite often. it easier to manage TP and keep dealing damage when Shield Swipe has a lot of up time

yeah i also prefer the higher block rate type shields over block strength. as remn said it keeps the uptime on shield swipe much higher. also blocking more times than just more absorbtion probably even out in the end. i dont know the exact numbers. i would think a more consistent block would be better than higher blocks. steady mitigation as to more spikey mitigation.

i looked up the animus shield. its good too. but will be along time to get at the rate my atmas are dropping...which is zip. horrible luck so far.

The left-side stuff usually gives you more stats per tome making them better buys. Unless you have some pressing need for the ring.

Normally I'd say chest, but in your case I'd probably get the ring first to replace gladiator's ring. That's an 11(!!!) vit upgrade that you can get now, and you can continue running CT to try for the chest where as no accessories drop in CT.

If at all possible, make sure you cap your soldiery each week, I'd make that your primary objective.
