Skilled people know how to find one another. You join as a sub for someone's static in PF and show them youre good.
Or start a static and over time replace people who aren't skilled or aren't adapting/learning.
You are just proving my point, do you realize that?
Let's play Armchair-Dev; So, what would you do to give an option to those people, who can't beat Coil, can't get Soldiery and can't get through Ex-Primals? Think about it and i am pretty sure this will be your answer; Timesinks. Everything else would not make sense. Yes, it is pure luck how fast people get all Atma's and afterwards it is straight grind, but 100% and not RNG anymore. The only RNG so far is the actual first Stage and collecting Atma's. How the future Updates will look like... who know's, we will know soon enough. You are may be lucky and get the Atma's really fast, maybe you are unlucky and it will take weeks over weeks.
SE is simply changing out Skill and Luck, for those who does lack Skill. Let aside those who actually like RNG/Timesinks, that is a different group of people, but you are not talking about those. If there would not be a "luck factor", but a set amount of Fates you would have to do, you would have pure grind and that would cater more to "hardcore" people.. ( i hate that term btw.. ), since they would go and grind it out in no Time. The "Luck" involved kind of prevents from that to happen. SE is gating the "entry stage" with luck and some ppl may call it "weeding out" and yeah it is. It is weeding out impatient people, people who are not determined and who are not ambitious. The same way Coil/Ex-Primals etc is locking out those who lack Skill.
From what I see its not only "a few" who see a problem with the RNG farming. I don't mind the book part (heck, i dont even have one atma to begin with lol =P) its the whole RNG part where you dont see a progression. Sure, droping the Atma itself IS a progression, but there isnt a progression to GET the atma. Anyway, they'll probably change the quest once Novus is ready, yoshi-p isn't inclined to let people fall back on content when new content is released, so i'll just waitJust because you and a few people see a problem with the whole RNG fate grinding, does not mean there is one.
See what i did there?
Is there a specific reason why people do want Animus over Tidal, Soldiery or High Allagan Weapons? 4 options to get a Weapon, why choose one you do not like?![]()
Iskandar Emmerich - Behemoth Server
Square Enix listens. It's just that:
1. Getting an Atma weapon is not mandatory. Hell, no self-respecting Warrior would even bother with the Atmas because neither the Atma nor Animus weapons grant any accuracy whatsoever, and accuracy is a desperate need for every Warrior.
2. It's not like no one is getting Atmas. I have five atmas without even trying. I just happen to do a lot of FATEs in random areas. If you don't like the grind, do something else. Once Atma/Animus/Novus becomes commonplace amongst the endgame playerbase, the Atmas will more than likely end up either having their drop rates dramatically increased or sold for tomes.
3. Threatening to quit a game has never worked to spur any developer to do anything you want. You'd need a massive amount of people complaining about it, and so far, there's just a very vocal minority of people. If anything, threatening to quit only diminishes the importance of your message, as if to say "Getting this weapon is the only reason I'm playing this game," which only serves to imply that you don't even like the game all that much and would be better off quitting the game and finding something else to play anyway.
So perhaps you would be happier leaving and finding another game, but I should warn you. If the SWTOR devs are any indication of the average, the FFXIV devs are actually some of the most attentive developers there are when it comes to its playerbase than anyone else out there, and most of them don't even speak English!
Of course it's selective! When has any company ever said "Here, player base. Come up with your idea of an entire game and we'll make it for you!" This is a company. They make the game, we play it. We are not the developers. We do not have a say in every little thing that comes out of Square Enix, or any game company for that matter.Oh they do communicate with the player base, but it's rather selective. TBH, they've been really good all the way up 2.2. The most recent patch 2.25 was a complete joke. Addressing an "issue" with ATMA by fixing the color of items is more PR gimmick to create an illusion of acknowledging the actual issue at hand. IMO, that's sloppy and bad customer service. Historically, Yoshi-P goes through an in depth explanation of certain design process. THAT to me is true communication, and I would LOVE to hear his justification for this ATMA design. In its current state, it does not encourage and prohibitive to multi-class progress.
"hear the justification for the atma design"
LOL really..? They have every right to NOT disclose this information to you just because you don't enjoy the system. XIV is one of the only games that allowed you to level multiple jobs on one character. This is hardly "limiting" compared to other MMOs that only allow you to have ONE class or job per character. While I'm at it, it was a good idea to fix the color of atma in your inventory because they were rather flat and did not stand out very well. I don't know what gimmick you're talking about.
Yoshi-P shared the design process because he knew that it was important to keep the fan's trust that a game that failed was well on its way to a successful relaunch. We're almost a year past the relaunch, the game is a clear success, there is really no reason for him to continue to spill everything for you. But because of a recent announcement he made, it seems we will continue to get the occasional road map for the time being.
When did people start suddenly thinking this way?
What..?
...No they don't make sense because there's plenty of proof that we get a ton of communication from SE.
