Square Enix listens. It's just that:

1. Getting an Atma weapon is not mandatory. Hell, no self-respecting Warrior would even bother with the Atmas because neither the Atma nor Animus weapons grant any accuracy whatsoever, and accuracy is a desperate need for every Warrior.

2. It's not like no one is getting Atmas. I have five atmas without even trying. I just happen to do a lot of FATEs in random areas. If you don't like the grind, do something else. Once Atma/Animus/Novus becomes commonplace amongst the endgame playerbase, the Atmas will more than likely end up either having their drop rates dramatically increased or sold for tomes.

3. Threatening to quit a game has never worked to spur any developer to do anything you want. You'd need a massive amount of people complaining about it, and so far, there's just a very vocal minority of people. If anything, threatening to quit only diminishes the importance of your message, as if to say "Getting this weapon is the only reason I'm playing this game," which only serves to imply that you don't even like the game all that much and would be better off quitting the game and finding something else to play anyway.

So perhaps you would be happier leaving and finding another game, but I should warn you. If the SWTOR devs are any indication of the average, the FFXIV devs are actually some of the most attentive developers there are when it comes to its playerbase than anyone else out there, and most of them don't even speak English!
