YOUR VERSION OF IT:
I agree 100% with the original poster. Atma/Animus is just to*time consuming, tedious, and to grindy*for me right now. Thankfully, my static gave me our first unidentified tomestone - I'll have an i100 weapon next week (after droping 3 weeks of Soldiery tomes), and I'll be able to make i110 shortly after hopefully (if i'm lucky enough to get drops), and it*will stop there as I won't be able to upgrade it anymore and have to win another RNG prize, and go after another weapon later.*
Wut? First thing first, I don't mind the concept of the books to upgrade the weapon, and that's probably the biggest part of the grind. What I mind is just how mind-numbingly bad FATE's are. They're earnestly a concept I wish that Square would stop trying to push onto players, because I don't think they'll -ever- be as popular as Square wants them to be.
Second, yes, I'm dropping 3 weeks of soldiery tomes – just like players used to drop 3 weeks of Myth tomes for an i90 weapon (Before the patch that removed our cap.) This is to get a weapon that is -stronger- than the Animus weapon (I lose Accuracy, but I get SkillSpeed/Det. The SS is kinda meh, but the Det is -awesome-, and I have the kind of accuracy needed to make up the difference as-is.) So I don't mind this, to get a weapon that is stronger than the i100 Animus weapon with -NO- RNG save who we decide gets the Oils of Time in our group in a week from T8.
Kindly, I'll ask you not to not only butcher my posts, but also not to quote something you have a clear lack of understanding for. While yes, eventually I'll trade it for another RNG grind (Namely, trying to get i115, or depending on how the next set of i120+ weapons goes...), I am perfectly content with the fact that my advancement won't be contingent on getting lucky with 12 different zones that I've already sunk over 30minutes-8+ hours in each zone for.
