    Card Game?

Ok, so... Recently, I spent some time in Germany for Distant Worlds, and during the off-time my friend and I were playing some FF9... and it reminded me just how fun Tetra master was. It came included with FF11 as a separately execution-able game, which I think might be why it got as poor a reception as it did.
How much interest would there be for a Final Fantasy PVP/PVE card game included in XIV?
I know I'd be up for it, and it'd be a hell of a lot more fun than Atma.

I'm talking like... Certain NPCs that you can play cards with, win their cards, and play in a dungeon too. Perhaps in one of those pop-up windows like your inventory screen and whatnot. It doesn't need to be an instanced area in itself - though maybe a card tournament area would be cool. PVP card tournament go! (Maybe?)

You could get cards from mobs as drops, or crafted by DOH, won from NPCs or given from quests. They perhaps could be leveled up through use like FF9's Tetra master or Transformed into items a la FF8, there are a lot of opportunities here.

Well Gold Saucer is coming, and minigames were stated as being a part of that, so a card game of some form is highly likely - really though, as long as it's not Parley I'll be happy. Urrgh, how I hated Parley in 1.0.

I've been wanting a card game for ages so that we have something to do while waiting in a dungeon after someone drops.

Triple Triad was always fun, for me, in FF8.

I think a Triple Triad mini game would be a great idea, but it would take some re-design as well for the MMO factors.

In FF8, you play against NPCs/AI, so they're always responsive/willing to play. What would happen playing against other players someone took too long for their turn or forcibly disconnected in an attempt to not lose? Perhaps put a timer for each turn, and a default forfeit on disconnections?

In FF8, you can win other people's cards and lose your own. If we had this for FFXIV, would we get constant threads of people crying they lost their favourite/rare cards? Would the community be mature enough for something like that? Maybe you'd need to have it so the winner can get a copy of one of their opponents cards and neither person loses anything. (This would probably remove some of the thrill too)

Then there's how do you acquire cards outside of the game. Well we'd have lots of choices within FFXIV. You could have your retainer get you some randomly? you could craft some? Possibly get some as loot in dungeon/treasure map chests.

Finally, how would you do playing rules. In FF8, you had different rules in use on how to play depending on the region. (Random selection, combos, sudden death etc). Maybe you could have different rules apply depending whether or not you were in Thanalan, La Noscea or the Black Shroud?

FFX-2's was the only card game I enjoyed, but FFXIII-2 had the best minigames. Anything but Triple Triad I'd be happy with.

I'm not sure I can explain it, I just didn't find it fun to play? I tried it both in VIII and IX (they are quite similar from what I remember), but I guess it's not my thing. The game I liked from FFX-2 was Sphere Break. Not exactly a game card, but close enough.

My favourite minigame has got to be FFXIII-2's clocks but I don't think it would work as a game you can play with others like TT (although I could see it as a dungeon mechanic).

Give us a Blue Mage with the ability "Eat" or "Cookpot" or just the "Card" ability that Quistis has in FF8? Make it the same way as it was in FF8. Don't see what would be too difficult about that. Would give people a reason to actually play a Blue Mage.
