    FFXIV+SLI/Crossfire

Hello. In XIV 1.0, it was pretty difficult to get dual GPU systems to work properly with XIV. It took a lot of work, but eventually I made it happen. Now with XIV 2.0 I've just returned to using a dual GPU system (AMD Crossfire) and i'm having a really difficult time getting any performance increase, and sometimes even feel a decrease.

Doesn't XIV support dual GPU systems now out of the box? I remember that being one of the technical aspects of the relaunch that I was looking forward to..

I'm running two Radeon 7950s and the PC detects them both there, but my FPS doesn't change whether 1 GPU is used or both. In fact, I feel like it gets choppier when both GPUs are engaged. Any suggestions?

It does support out of the box...at least for me and my nVidia GTX 670s. One of my buddies does use Crossfire, but he runs three screens.

That said, AMD only allows Crossfire to be used when a game is in full-screen mode, whereas nVidia it will still work in windowed mode. Also, (and I was planning to post on this!) when you run dungeons under SLi/Crossfire, the barrier that gets erected when a boss area is sealed off will significantly drop your FPS. If it's not within your view zone (i.e it's behind you) your FPS will return to normal.
