The forum ultimately ends up being the place where everyone just yells at each other for having opinions. And I'm no saint XD

Too bad you're on Brynhildr though, if you were on Hyperion I'd take you in!
Haha I kind of figured, though the issue will be lack of communication until I get a keyboard until I get one for in game terms. That and I tend to find allot of more mature folk in the forum, not saying people aren't helpful in game. It tends to be even worse when people get into an argument over opinions in Game.. at-least you can make a long winded reply over the forum xD But eh, I don't think anyone is.. everyone has a different opinion and preference and we tend to absently shove it down others throats without realizing it.

The only reason I joined Brynhildr is because its newer, and from experience newer servers in most cases are more tight nit and friendly but I might join one of the more populated servers soon. So long as its NA otherwise my ping will go batty xD I also notice those things that change your 'appearance' don't do what they're supposed to do or say they do. I thought I got to choose, instead it turned Shakhar into a Roegedyn Hellguard XD a female one at that.

(Ugh again that limit is evil)

Not sure but I guess you can edit your old post to bypass that character limit.

Thank you for telling me this, I feel like an idiot for not knowing this D: Wish they'd just increase the darn limit instead.

I have to disagree with people about the Duty Finder. This is my first MMORPG and I was really worried about party play at first. My advice is to just tell people your new and most people will be understanding and give you some great advice.

    This.

You may get the rare douche every so often. But that applies to any community, online or in real life XD

What gets people annoyed is not saying you are new and making mistakes that possibly wipe the party because you didn't know or let the party know that beforehand.

I also disagree with the people in Duty Finder. I have been playing Arcanist and went Scholar and have had nothing but friendly helpful players in the randoms. When I say I am new to a dungeon they have been helpful. Last night I got Garuda for the first time said I was new and they were very helpful, we wiped 3 times before finally completing it but each time advice was given and we got further in the fight.

Not everyone are jerks that look down on new players. I have been leveling solely by running random dungeons since I hit 15.

Beings you started in limsa you'll have to take one of the classes there to level 15 unlocking the envoy quest with airship privileges. Limsa is an island and can't be accessed or left until then, which is fine for the most part since completing level 15 guild quest is required for sub classes. All of your hunting logs will he located in your starting city until you unlock rank level 2.
Dont worry about speed ^^ the levels will just happen. Not everything in the game is mandatory to complete the story mode. These quests look like the have flames around the exclamation icon. The plain bubble icons are side missions with story filler. The primals are also side quest instance battles until you reach endgame. So if you find the primal battles too hard at first, they are skippable until later.

Occasionally someone can get matched up with a real jerk in Duty Finder, and people remember and keep complaining about those runs, so it gives the impression that it's more common than it actually is. In fact, the vast majority of the time you'll be matched up with people who are at least considerate, and often friendly and helpful.

My general advice: Take your time. Explore and enjoy the game. Pay attention to dialog, tooltips, and tutorial screens, so you'll know what's going on. And when any of those things don't make sense, come here and ask about it.
