You sure about that? The alternative to forbidden chakra is the tp move, I dont remember him mentioning anything about three moves working off of chakra.

the 30s cd im certain about at the very least, which means it cant use TP as a cooldown means it an off gcd, im prety sure i remember him saying it used chakra to but i dont have it written down in the notes i was taking during his stream though.

As much as I love all the speculation and working it all out, the biggest thing we are missing at the moments are traits, we have zero idea what traits are coming, what if there's a trait that says tornado kick leaves you at 1 GL, or if using demolish gives you a chakra stack?

I know both of those are unlikely, my point is though even if we have all of the skill data, the traits could throw everything out of the window and I doubt we will know any of those till the patch note reading at E3. So far chakra seems like a nice little filler to boost DPS during brief periods of downtime, but depending on what happens it could be so much more.

Also, does anyone know if Forbidden Chakra was oGCD or required a GCD? I know the chakra building skill is a GCD, just wasn't sure if the release skill or the TP skill was oCGD or not.

actually we know everything about traits, there are NO new traits.

im prety sure forbidden chakra should be off GCD as it has a cooldown.

Oh really? I must have missed that announcement sorry if I am completely off on that one, but was that officially stated that heavensward there would be no new traits for classes?

As i can see on the movie with new monk skills hes using Perfect Balance next is Rock Breaker, new skill what we dont know what he is doing, next is Tru Strike, next is Howling Fist, Demolish, second new skills Tornado Kick and last new skill as finisher.
so for me looking on what skills hes used he got 3 GL stack. 1 GL stack from Rock Breaker, 2 GL stack from Demolish, 3 GL stack from Tornado Kick and when he got 3 GL stack hes used finisher skill to lose all GL stack.

My point was it was purely a demo of the skills, nothing more. They may have not even implemented additional skill effects on that client, so for now all we really know is what the skill looks like, and its potency.

I wasn't saying we are going to keep any GL stacks, merely stating we don't know everything yet and one little thing could change everything completely. Guess we will just have to wait and see.

Except...Tornado Kick consumes GL stacks and doesn't grant them.

It's like you don't even play MNK.. It's PB, Rock(GL1), New Ability (Prolly Chakra, which if it is, is obviously oGCD despite what the doc says), SNAP PUNCH(GL2), Howling Fist, Demolish(GL3), Tornado(Drops GL) and prolly Forbidden Chakra(Drops Chakra). Putting Chakra on the GCD makes no sense at all, weaving it in between GCD makes more sense and goes along with what they are doing with the other jobs, making them more complex and not more cumbersome. Also it makes sense that SE would show off the new MNK system by showing us what the Chakra ability looks like right? That has to be Chakra in between rock and snap.

Why couldn't someone at the event just write down everything about the new abilities? That's what I would've done.(since they couldn't take pictures of it) Could've just written down the important stuff like Potency, CD etc... We wouldn't have this confusion if they did.

What we do know(in that version of the game at least):
Tornado Kick consumes GL stacks, doesn't give you one.
There are no evidence of Elixir Drive using Chakra. In fact, we have gotten clear information about there only being 2 abilities using Chakra stacks, Forbidden Chakra and TP regen.

As for the Elixir Drive ability... Lets just wait for further details on it. Making it so GL doesn't affect it's damage seems like a rather strange way of balancing it, instead of just reducing the potency...

Well, that sounds good and all, but SE have talked about Chakra like it's an ability you use during downtime, in fact that's the whole focus of MNK now... So if it's oGCD, it also can't have any CD to speak off, like very short. Also wouldn't it be extremely OP? 400 Potency is huge of MNK, and you would be able to use it very often.

If it's a longer CD, then maybe, but again... How would that fit into what SE said?

Also, while that PCgamesn guy isn't the most reliable, he does main MNK after all, and he played it much more than any other job... Would he really make that huge mistake? He would have to be a retard.

Edit: After taking another look or 100 on the job vid, he do use Snap Punch like instantly after the Chakra ability... So do look like oGCD. I'm so confused right now it's killing me.
