Odowla do you have a huge problem posting your rotation from your opener or your 570 dps video? I can sit down and figure it out if need be later if you don't have the time or I've missed it somewhere (thankfully you usually click a button a lot so it's easy to follow ^_^), but I've hit a rut with my dps since that patch that buff dragoons and "nerfed" ninjas and I've been delving back into research lately.

I usually pull 460+ and if I'm really lucky I'll hit 510ish in final coil (we haven't gotten past t11 yet) and I use the general outline of page 1 openers with str pots and poison pots added in, but I just can't beat our dragoon anymore...and it makes me sad lol ><.
Part of the problem I was having is that I was still using a 110 weapons (oops), but I've currently working on finishing the item collection for Zodiac and then the new light for Zeta, so that problem should be fixed soon.

Yup, any less than that and it's not really possible, you'll need to get rid of the Touch of Death. I'm sitting at 385 SS and I don't lose GL3. Thats why I am saying its the poison pot, our rotations are pretty much the same GCD wise, except replacing Snaps and Demos, so we need roughly the same SS to make them work.

Depending on one's latency, potions can definitely clip into GCDs.

Timed properly? How do you time it correctly? You should be mashing the potion while the animation for the current GCD is still going on.. There is no timed properly, it's more "Am I lagging or not?". Potions can and will clip you unless you have good latency.

Guys, I hope you understand the meaning of the word "shouldn't"? It has a very different meaning from "won't" or "can't", two words I did not use in the post you are quoting. I am not at all making the ludicrous statement that would justify what you two are saying in response to my post.

The potions have nothing at all to do with why GL3 drops in Odowla's video, which itself shows zero clipping whatsoever due to potions. That's how it's supposed to happen, just like mudras are not supposed to lag out and make you do the wrong ninjutsu, and Jump is not supposed to clip your GCD with its (once upon a time) really, really long lock.

The reason that GL3 drops is because the third snap punch is activated 4.793s after the initial Demolish, has a short animation time that grants 12 seconds of GL3 at 5.626s, so the expiration time is at 17.626s, but Demolish is activated at 17.450s, which means the GL3 is saved, but Demolish also has a long animation time that grants 12 seconds of GL3 at 19.117s, meaning that GL3 is down for 1.667 seconds.

How much lag are we talking about for pots to not clip GCD? I'm using WTFast Premium with a extremely stable 105-110 ping, and I still clip into the GCD... Not by much mind you, but it's still noticeable.

Either you must have like <80 ping for it to work, or it's just something else weird...

In the Low skillspeed video I posted, I Was NOT using a VPN Program. Just Spam the buttons really hard.

Most Americans have sub 50ms ping. Same reason why JP Nin > NA Nin > EU Nin.

Which is probably why I didn't see you tell someone what it was under the reply section on your Opener video lol, though I do notice on one you do ToD before PB and on the other you don't use ToD.

Sorry Sunny I am referring to the person who posted who said they were unable to do Odo's rotation and keep GL3.

The only thing that can make that not possible is the clipping of GCDs through the use of multiple potions. If Odo isn't clipping GCDs and getting the GL3, then its reasonable to look at the one thing that can slow the rotation down (the clipping of GCDs) as the cause.

Not sure i am doing it right or wrong.
I followed the rotation of PB -> demo -> snap -> snap -> snake -> DK, with oGCD + poison potions + self buff + X-pot in between. The dps i get max is only 470-480. D: T.T
When u guys mentioned DPS, do you mean the max DPS u can see from live parse, or just the one value that is shown after 3 minutes finish ?

BTW, i am ilvl 123 with shiva weapon + food buff T.T

@Alvisto, the final value. Anything else is irrelevant, people might mention their spike damage too when they discuss openers. But you should definitely be hitting more than 470 at iLv123 with Shiva Weapon.

To give you some perspective, my monk would parse on a dummy ~465 at iLv110 with HA Claws/Shiva Weapon.

One thing to keep in mind is that your opener isn't the biggest part of your DPS. Making sure you get GL3 off of PB immediately is the biggest gain in your Opener, anything else after that is counting pennies to maximize even the smallest amount of dps possible.

You should be able to break 500 at ilv123 on a dummy.

Make sure you're not overclipping you're dots.

Make sure you're getting all your Auto Attacks in.

Make sure you are keeping Dragon Kick Debuff up and Twinsnakes up (They should never fall off).

I've talked to Monks who would clip Demolish every other rotation. (Snap > Demo > Snap > Demo) Make sure you're not doing that, if you are, stop. This is a huge DPS lost.

Keep Touch of Death up, no matter what people say, its pretty freaking good Potency, just a small TP drainer.
