Can someone explain this opener in the OP?

    Without PB: ToD -> BfB -> DK -> IR -> Twin -> Howl -> Demo -> Steel -> DK -> Twin -> Snap -> Boot -> True -> Snap...
Why do you do the DK > Twin combo two combos in a row? Without the off GCDs, their combo looks like:

    DK > Twin > Demo > DK > Twin > Snap > Boot > True > Snap

I don't see the point in DK > Twin twice in a row.

^It's because people obsess over getting DK+Twin and Boot+True back to back every form rotation to minimise movement...and mainly because DK doesn't apply until a full form rotation. If you insist on following that rule, you can either open with DK(or Boot, much more reliable imo for same damage)+Twin -> Boot+True, but you won't apply DK until your 3rd form rotation. Or you could do Boot+True -> DK+Twin, with no buffs on the first rotation. With DK+Twin -> DK+Twin though, the 2nd Twin Snakes in the example posted isn't necessary as you already have the buff, but it gets DK and Twin up as soon as possible and reduces movement for the rest of your rotation by doing the flank moves back-to-back, at the cost of a tiny loss in dps.

Logically, for maximum efficiency and getting all buffs asap without PB, and without reduced damage you'd go: Boot -> Twin -> Demolish -> DK -> True -> Snap. But Monk community seems to shy away from this because it involves a lot more moving around from flank-rear. On very large bosses like Kaliya it isn't very practical, though I'm surprised it's almost never mentioned. Then again, the DPS loss from having to repeat a buff early while opening is very minimal, and the payoff of moving less for the rest of your rotation is generally worth it.

that 585 is no party and at i127 not that far from your 600. Also as I stated it can still improve using Ossom's opening.

I actually have a spreadsheet we cna use to help find BiS much quicker, if you're interested, its much better than doing all weights manually.

That sounds like it would be handy to have. Doing it by hand gets tedious.

Yes; It has all of the stat weights of all of the gear, along with room to modify both the weights and the materias of the crafted pieces. Very primitive (for now), but it works.

    Here it is.

Odowla looks like we had the same idea XD. I have also created a gear calculator for MNK for getting weights and comparing sets.

    FFXIV MNK Gear Calculator
    • The drop down list is used for selecting current gear
    • The compare column is used for selecting a 2nd set of gear to compare to your current gear
I have not really added any of the crafted gear (seeing how I’m poor), but adding it is as easy as adding a new row under the correct area. If any one wants to help out on expanding the functionality feel free to msg me.

I am also trying to add DPS calculations for stats but only have old formulas from 2.0. Could anyone please share the excel Dervy is using for getting stat weights?

Edit: I have created a Public version that allows you to edit, add equipment and test out builds

Hey, can someone tell me what stat I should try to bump up more? I'm still kinda vague on this. Please note that I'm still using weathered gloam accessories where I have them selected, except for 1 gloam ring.

Edit: Got the WoD Chest piece.

Have a question bout dummy dps tests. Is there an accepted time limit or any other restrictions? I have seen many people say they got so and so dps on dummies and I would like to compare but I dont know how to relate the conditions.

Longer parses are generally better because damage and crit rate in particular will start to level out. A lot of people do 3 minute parses, but I find this insufficient because you still have crit rates that will vary quite a bit at that time frame. Unfortunately most monks' SS levels will only allow them to go 4-4:30 before running dry. I usually parse until right at the point where I am going to have to wait for a TP tick.

There is no real golden rule to parsing in terms of criteria to adhere to though. It's best just to state what buffs you did or didn't have. So for example a couple out of my log from yesterday: 541 DPS over 4:21 with no party buff, no food, no pots. Or 563 DPS over 4:02 with party buff, no food, no pots. Give some info or a link to your gear. Generally speaking people do not use Mercy Stroke as it's an artificial inflation, but some people do use it. Just try to be up front with your parse scenario and that should be sufficient enough for people compare and contrast in similar conditions.
