Skill Speed and Meditation

Well, I dont think Meditation will be affected by Skill Speed, based on its description in the tooltip.
Other than that I think they want it to be used exclusively on disconects from the boss.

Like that one circular AoE that forces you to walk away for more than 3 seconds, or in the transition from Boss -> Add -> Boss and Shoulder Tackle is on cooldown.

So to get 5 stacks of Chakra takes 7.5s, which means losing 3 attacks, seems still not worth it.
Is it the first time we see a GCD move with less than the standard 2.5s recast pre-buff? I'm not too familiar with other jobs so maybe there's one already?
It will be interesting to see the faster 1.5s GCD.

Also don't know if it's worth noting, neither Purification nor Forbidden Chakra mentions that the Chakra stacks will be used, but seems broken if we get permanent Chakra stacks throughout ("Fist of Chakra")

No, skipping a GCD by using Meditation or 2 to wait for Buffs to line up with your Dots will not lead to a Dps increase, it never will. because the gain you get from that one attack you want being buffed will never out weigh the damage you lose from not attacking, that's pretty obvious.

On another note, I didn't see anywhere where you would lose Chakra for doing Forbidden Chakra or the other skill, I've noticed that they mention that stuff for Warriors new Deliverance or w/e (where the stacks of abandon are lost) but ignore it for monks. I'm starting to think that we don't actually blow our Chakra and instead stay at 5 stacks once we get to 5 stacks until the instance is over, we die or change jobs, anyone talk to anyone who has actually played Monk and didn't googly eyes at the graphics and actually looked at how the skills work and can actually confirm that we lose Chakra after we do Forbidden Chakra or the Purification?

all the summoner and scholar skills that use aetherflow are worded the same way, so i would asume we still lose the chakra, if that wasnt the case we would be getting a free 320 potency every 5s from forbidden chakra, and thats obviously not going to happen.

pretty shocked that out of all the tidbits of information that's been shown/come to light in the past few days, the one key aspect of new monk play is still not clear.

oh well, just gotta wait for full patch notes soon, and just a bit over 10~ hours before we can start the grind

Ossom is right, the theorycrafting for this is extremely simple
the lowest potency skill we have is 140, without even factoring in the higher potency skills lets look at this.
we can do approx 3.5 skills per full stack of chakra, that means forbidden chakra would need to be at least 140 * 3.5 potency
and as we all know, forbidden chakra is definitely NOT 490 potency

it was confirmed in the live letter when we first found out about chakra that the stacks would not fall off due to time
