Wave Shield/Buckler - Tidal Wave Shield/Buckler - Mirror in Patch 2.25

We knew that, upcoming, was a change to the Tidal Wave Shield/Buckler drop in Leviathan Ex. What we did not know is that players that already got the Shield/Buckler drop would be punished while players that have already used a Mirror on their Wave Shield would be rewarded

I do not understand how this could be overlooked. A more simple breakdown below:

Players that have upgraded their Shield to Tidal Wave Shield/Buckler get an extra mirror to upgrade another weapon with. This requires ONE mirror drop.

Players who receive the drop from today onward automatically get Tidal Wave Shield/Buckler as their Levi Ex Drop. This requires NO mirror drop. To upgrade their weapon requires ONE mirror drop.

Players who have the Wave Shield have to upgrade it to Tidal Wave Shield/Buckler AND upgrade their weapon. This requires TWO mirror drops, or for the person to get an additional Shield/Buckler drop when they have already achieved that drop.

Please tell me how this is logical or fair?

Please note that this problem could easily be remedied by removing the Mirror of the Whorl hand-in requirement from Aelina for Tidal Wave Shield and Tidal Wave Buckler. This way, the requirement would only be to have the Wave Shield or Wave Buckler, allowing those who have received the drop to upgrade it easily with minimal effort on the part of the development team.

Just got the Wave Shield yesterday, and today I find out that my time looking for this specific drop was all in vain.

I was looking forward to having my Wave Shield automatically be a Tidal Wave Shield today, but I logged in very disappointed.

Can I please have a free Mirror of the Whorl to take care of this problem? I would like to use other classes to farm for their weapons, but now I'm looking at staying on Paladin for a few more days it seems.

LOL WAT?! they made it so that people who have ALREADY upgraded it got a free mirror. If you have ALREADY upgraded it then yes, you should get a mirror. it is not simply going to turn into a tidal. Now you do have the luxury of using ONE mirror to upgrade both the sword and shield instead of the 2 required before 2.25.

The way they did it was the smartest actually. If you really think about it, you had to use 2 mirrors to upgrade both the sword and shield, so you had to get 2 mirrors in the first place. And if you just upgraded the shield alone then yes, this could be taken badly.but still you are getting the one mirror back to use as you please. There really is no reason to complain about how they did it. Keep on farming, thats all you can do.

This isn't even true. If you go to Aelina, you still have to use a mirror to upgrade the shield AND the sword. That's 2 mirrors. Read the original post, please, before flaming someone and then spewing random nonsense.

The only fair solution is to drop the Wave shields out of the game and replace them all with Tidal Wave Shields. The people who upgraded their swords are the ones who lost out the most but there are also some people who opt to not upgrade the sword only because the shield didn't come with it. Personally, I don't think this is that big of an issue but since people love to whine about everything, the only fair solution is to change all Wave shields to Tidal Wave shields and just drop Wave shields from the game.

An alternative solution is to give all those who upgraded their swords/wands a free Tidal Wave shield. While not as fair as the first option, at least no one truly gets screwed over.

Its kinda ironic that the people who made the less intelligent choice (yes, upgrading ur shield first is less intelligent) got rewarded. Also, Axlle10 is probably someone who upgraded his shield and Shantzu is someone who upgraded his sword.

I didn't upgrade either, but I've spent countless hours downing/teaching Levi Ex to people and have gotten seen the shield the time i got it.

I don't normally let things devs do bother me, but in this specific circumstance it seems like they were very short-sighted. Looking at this issue makes me wonder, "wtf were they thinking?". There is no way they have any logical reason to screw people who got the Wave Shield/Buckler drop while literally every other person is rewarded.

How about those of us that have gotten the i95 shields post patch... Nothing fixed there. We still need two mirrors... But hey, there is a CHANCE the i100 ones will drop, so it must be all fixed! Keep grinding!

I got very lucky pre 2.25 and got 2 mirrors of the whorl. I used both on my PLD shield and sword (pre 2.25). Its been a few days now since 2.25 got live and yet i still dont have a mirror in my moogle mail. Anybody knows when they would start sending them out ?
