Dress Material, High Quality Buttons...

So, there's a mild concern I have regarding the drops right now, and it's for the items Dress Material and High Quality Buttons. In the past, players would often work together with PUG's to do random maps (Piesteskin being the most evident one) in the hopes of being able to roll Need on the old-philo matts (which sometimes went for a pretty penny!)

When 2.2 came around, Dress Material and High Quality Buttons were added to this new system. I will say simply - I -LOVE- the system itself, I -LOVE- treasure hunting, and I -LOVED- getting a crafter to make the item for me! It was a job well done.

But what I didn't love was the seeming disputes that came up over it.

Every time I make a party, I always put 'Your Map - Your Loot, Including High Quality buttons / Dress Material.' But I always get that one member who joins the party and instantly starts trying to sway the party to the way they want - 'Well I usually do Your Map / Your Loot, and whoever gets the Dress Material gets to keep it.'

And I will tell you this much, people will throw a *****fit over this.

So now whenever I bring people into my party for these, If I choose to do them outside of my free company, I now have to deal with the fear that the same person who agreed to the rules (That I re-specify and make sure everyone agrees to before we start) will turn around and not give the item to the respective owner when it drops.

And that is rather frustrating to me.

Personally, why not just let us roll on -all- the items, regardless of rarity? Or at the very least give us some better distribution options. Right now, the party leader has no control, aside from specifying rules at the start that people join/agree to.

This is the problem with all party based content, but I believe there was a post a week or so ago that said if rules are agreed upon in chat and someone breaks those rules you can contact a GM and the item will be confiscated.

Obviously you will need to prove that the person in question agreed upon the rules before the item was rolled upon.

It is a pain, but people will be people and there are a lot of greedy ones about.

Loot master options would be nice but these can also be abused.

So true, Jinko. I know some old games used to have a problem of people switching Quartermaster right before a boss died, and it allowed them to take all the loot in those cases.

The first line of information is why I go so far out of my way to make sure everyone agrees to the PF rules. But even still, it's so discomforting, and I'm sure it'd break the heart of one of the people actually trying to -earn- their material.

You can't control monsters drops. Why would you be able to control non-rolling drops from chests ?

For G5 treasure hunt, please make the Dress Material added in patch 2.2 to loot item.
Currently the value of the item is much higher than the Frosted Glass Lens or Chinchila Hide, and there are many times when we have local PT rule set to where map users are the only one that can loot on items.

Regarding the new materials introduced to the Treasure Hunt, we will look into if we can change from the auto distribute method to loot method.

Do you mean "Exquisite Buttons"? Which are a drop from a solo-map...

surprisingly, this is against terms of service if they do not follow pre-mediated rules.

if they break them: kick, blacklist and report them.

that is about all you can do to prevent this stuff.

I think GMs have access to chat logs so just asking everybody if they agree to your map = your loot and getting a confirmation from everyone would be enough. Screenshots can be edited, so I doubt they take them too seriously.
