Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Yoshi-P say 2.25 was going to be a big pvp patch? All it included was 10 new ranks and new gear? My god I think my disappoint level may have reached an all new high.

Remember when Yoshi was laughing at Ballista?
It's a minor patch that was suppose to be mostly about the wolf den ( ranking system, pvp gear and rank ), there was a little mistranslation for the Q&A of the LL which made people believe it was a major pvp patch while it was a minor patch but mostly for pvp ( believing it was a major patch while 2.2X patches are all minor patches was a big mistake).
I still don't understand how people can be dissapointed about this minipatches. They are bugfixes with a few little bonus thingys.
The Content Patches are the full numbers. 2.1 2.2 2.3
It's mainly because PvP is in a fundamentally broken state and instead of addressing the sheer brokenness of the system, they've just added more gear. (which actually makes the system even MORE broken).
It's sort of like if T6-T9 were completely broken and not fun and nobody wanted to do them, so SE said they'd fix it! Come patch day, they just add a T10 and call it a day, without addressing any of the problems inbetween. It's basically the knowledge that PvP will be completely doomed for at least another two months.
I'm sorry, but in terms of a .05 patch it really doesn't matter about anything. .05's are small patches. Anyone expecting anything more has a distinct inability to A) Listen to what Yoshi's said all along about the way updates will be handled, and B) pay attention to the obvious patching patterns we've already seen. Regardless of the state of PvP expecting a big patch here was unprecedented.
Quoted from the relevant Live Letter (XIII Q&A) on this forum.A: We'll be implementing a system that makes it less likely for players with lower PvP ranks to get matched with people with higher PvP ranks. Also, because you can obtain all PvP-specific gear after reaching rank 30 and become extremely powerful very quickly, we'll be making adjustments to the timing of rewards to make the upgrade process more gradual. We are also planning for a large update to the Wolves' Den in patch 2.25, at which time we'll raise the maximum PvP rank to 40 and implement the new PvP-specific equipment that I've shown off previously. We're calling this the “Animal Series,” so if you are into PvP, be sure to get this equipment and try it out with glamours.
They explicitly state that 2.25 will include a "large update to the Wolves' Den".
It does break the paradigm somewhat, but that is why people were expecting far more. They explicitly stated that it would be large in magnitude and, combined with the obvious issues from anyone who has attempted to queue PvP in the last month+, people were hoping for a rejuvenation. A PvP Reborn... as right now, it is certainly going the direction of A Realm Reborn's predecessor.

I can't even quantify how much if an exaggeration that is. They have one feature that needs improvement so this game is becoming as bad as 1.0? Ridiculous hyperbole.it is certainly going the direction of A Realm Reborn's predecessor.
In so much that barely anybody is playing PvP which causes queue times to stagnate, which causes less people to play PvP, causing queue times to stagnate even more... yes. PvP is nearly dead in the most literal sense.
I don't usually expect big things out of a .5 patch, but as Raenryong stated above they did call this a large pvp patch. All I'm saying is that if they call 10 new ranks and new gear a large pvp patch, then I fear pvp won't be making a recovery anytime soon. That's a shame because when PVP is done right, it can really add a lot to a game and ARR is really begging for some new/different content.
