No changes to ATMA?

I've been patient enough, thanks. I've spent 20 hours in hell known as "Southern Thanalan" with no Atma to show for it. Yet I have friends who have gotten all 12 Atmas in that same amount of time. This system is an absolute joke.

I really don't have anything against spending 20 or even 40 hours on a grind like this but the randomness makes it seem like a cruel punishment instead of worthy progression that gets you more results the more you put time into it. Basically dedication gets zero credit with this system and it just feels wrong.

Seems like a minor patch to me...which is why there'll be no ATMA changes til 2.3

Got all but like 3 of my atma going by this with little issue. Actually have a bunch of dupes because of it as well.

Speaking as someone who has his atma and animus shield, that entire cheat sheet is pure hogwash. It's circumstantial and anecdotal at best.

Nothing has been verified to work and it's people who got lucky at those hours that got an atma that say "oh em gee this works!!"

It's pure rng. Bout it.


Coming back to the topic at hand I must say I had a chuckle when I read patch notes and saw no changes after they delayed the novus part of the quest and one of the reasons was to implement changes to the current atma/animus situation.

Such is life.

Tried it. If it actually does anything (which I sincerely doubt, considering it still hasn't even made clear which time zone is taken into account), it's an insignificant difference.

It makes me laugh that people like you still think this is about patience and getting things easy. Get it through your thickhead, is neither of that. People are more then willing to spend time to get something, nobody here wants things handed to them either. The point is simple, the RNG system is flawed and grinding boring as low level fates is not a fun experience. I much rather have a hard, long and difficult quest line where skill and my actual class skills come into play and then at the end getting a reward that I worked for.

Instead we have this. Lvl 10-20 fates grinding endlessly with 1-2 skills at our disposal hour after hour waiting for that 1 Atma to drop.. yeah..not fun. You know why spending 20 week in coil 5-9 isnt a problem? It is fun. I have no issues with the RNG system in dungeons and raids as they are fun to do. I don't get my item, no big deal Ill wait and repeat and have fun in the progress. With Fates... I do not. I wait, I repeat, I wait, I repeat, I wait, I repeat, I wait, I repeat all while pressing 4...4..4..4..4.4.4.4.4.4.4.4..4 on every mob(4 has my insta cast low lvl bio on it) waiting for that potential atma...
