All DF PTs are NOT evil

    I finally MT'd Garuda Hard.

I let everyone know in advance that I'm not experienced in this but everyone was nothing but supportive. One guy even literally wrote that "I won't whine if we wipe"!

This made me feel less nervous and by no means did I do a great job (how come I have such trouble keeping hate?!) but we pulled through in one piece. =)

This was literally XIV at it's best. Great players and people who were even dps-ing it the first time got instructions from the more experienced players and it was a close call but teamwork really trumps ego in instances like this one.

Whenever I'm thinking of jumping into a new MMO I always check the forums and I really think there should be some credit given to the community when it's them that make this a better game than it is sometimes.

Same thing in most dungeon parties. The quitters and whiners are not the majority of people there no matter what the forums might make it look like sometimes.

There is no excuse for me to guide new players in dungeon/trials except they refuse to listen and create their own dungeon mechanic (Yep, it happened).

I'm always kind to everyone, then they won't yell at me cause that would just make them feel bad.

I haven't experience a lot of flaming in this game, maybe cause most people I have met are like 22years old+ and they know they're just playing a game.
The only dungeon I don't do is coil cause all of my experiences there has been like"this guy sucks he did a mistake he's the worst player in the world"
It's a pity cause I like how hard coil is, but I'm there to have fun with other people. I'm not there to fight them.

There are a lot of friendly and helpful players in-game. The reason you see more negativity than there actually is is because it takes an exceptionally bad player or group of players to frustrate someone enough to go post about it. I'm not going to complain about a group that wipes 10 times but earnestly tries each time and progresses. I will, however, complain about that one player who refuses to accept advice while being responsible for all the wipes.

I found it daunting doing coil through DF, but once I did it I loved it and have since learnt most of the mechanics. Because of that I have less chance of making a mistake now

Don't be reluctant to do what you want because of something that might happen ^^

To be fair, the only real requirement for tanking Garuda Hard is having a rough idea of the shape of a circle.

I haven't had much on bad groups, I've done everything with the duty finder including upto T5 and Titan XM, only once in a while does someone perk up and decide they're going to douche all over the chat box, but when that happens I don't tend to let it influence the run, I just try harder to make up for the person who's failing or just minimize my chat box and try to persevere as best as possible..

Ok I'm not the best player ever but it took a lot more than that to tank it. I failed many many times before I knew how to survive and there still is a lot of stuff that seem hard to me.

Like for example pulling her through the pt AND the sisters in the transition phase while trying to get her not to slipstream on the pt and NOT pulling the sisters at the same time while the thornadoes spin.

For a non awesome player it is a lot to handle at once. I still need luck a bit to do it because as a MT you can singlehandedly fail the boss if you mess up. And yes I did. (Sorry guys!)

what the hell are you talking about lol, the tnks have to know the correct positioning for all phases not just the kiting phase, same as normal mode and extreme mode, tnks and everyone else for that matter, have to know the correct positions to be in for the entire fight

When I am in a party where it is obvious or people state that they are unexperienced, first thing I do is trying to get the steam level down. Can be a joke, can be a supportive sentence like "don't worry, we try it until we make it" or something similiar. It works wonders most of the time. Many people had bad experiences in DF and are nervous about everything they do 1st time or are unexperienced in.

Creating a friendly environment is a key element for the more difficult dungeons and boss fights in this Game for me. If people are too serious and start bitching after the slightest mistakes, the consequence is most of the time that the people who were already nervous before are afterwards even more nervous and fail even more often. So taking tension out is mandatory. Playing a Game should be fun, not stressful. I will never understand the seriousity of some players anyways. Some look to me like they are going on a shift and "have to do it" lol.
