Legacy Transfers

What would it take to let us legacy players transfer to the new under populated servers?

I do understand that gil and gear would be an issue because the Economy Scale is far different, but what if we were willing to give all of that up.

I'm currently willing to transfer to a non-legacy server with nothing but my base stats, starting clothes and a Weathered Weapon to poke things with. I'd rather keep all of my quest progression... but if I really had to, I'd give all of that up too.

Would this really cause a problem? Is there any future for legacy transfer restrictions to be removed?

Why you might ask?

As the game grows stale, I dug around for some other games, but truth is FFXIV ARR is a great game and I'm perfectly happy with it. What has grown stale is the Legacy Server lockdown.

Most Players on Legacy Servers (at least on Sargatanas)
1.) Don't play anymore.
2.) Only log on for raid night.
3.) Are settled in their Linkshells or Free Companies.
4.) Have little to do outside of repetitive end game content.

They might be playing but the log in to complete their to-do list and then you won't see them til next week. They have completely lost their socialism. Try to shake things up by shouting, recruiting, PF recruiting... ect to build a more active and Social FC to keep things entertaining and not a single response after days of effort. People are comfortable and there are no new players coming in to make any adaptation.

Truth is I already have given all of my stuff up. I've spent a couple weeks playing on Mateus, and the world is bustling with new players running around without a FC and most if not all of the population have a large portion of goals left to achieve. There is tons of player interaction. In this type of environment it would be easy for me to try to create a social environment so that you have a community to keep you going even when the game gets repetitive at times. In hindsight I would have done this in the first place... but who knew before it was too late.

It's worth it for me to give up all I've earned over the past 3 and a half years for another shot at developing a social community environment. That's what kept us all going before Dalamud came along and jacked everything up. However it would surely be nice to be able to retain some of that effort. It's not about the gear and it's not about the gil. I'd gladly transfer broke and naked if it was an option.

The "old" non legacy servers aren't suddenly legacy servers because they added some new ones, so feel free to jump to any non legacy server you want (except for the brand new ones).

Didn´t they remove the legacy-transfer restrictions already?

they did remove legacy to legacy server transfer so u can transfer to either non legacy or legacy server. the only ones u cant transfer too is the 3 new servers added when ps4 came out til there economy becomes stable

It was never going to be an absolute that we wouldn't ever get to transfer to new servers. It was always going to be a matter of time.

Took a grand total of 30 seconds of searching to realize that they lifted the restriction almost 2 months ago.
