I'd like to see a system in place where DoH/DoL gets to do something on a grander scale. Perhaps aiding in the construction or reconstruction of towns by providing the necessary lumber and stone or crafting furnishings for the townspeople. Ul'dah's population explosion is ripe for the pickings when it comes to the lore behind it, and it's a great way to keep the classes relevant.

Rewards can include rarer materials, such as the elusive dress material or sailor cotton. It could also include new gear for the DoH/DoL classes to make the climb to 3-star crafting a little bit friendlier (something I'm a strong advocate of anyway). This game has such a beautifully rich crafting system, and I absolutely LOVE crafting. But it feels sorely neglected and only seems to be an afterthought when it comes to updates and additions.

I'm with the OP. Crafters and gatherers need a revolution. I levelled all my crafters to level 50, simply because I enjoyed the climb. But it sure is quiet and lonely at the top.
