Suggestion: Patch 2.xx : Revolution of the Hand

Kinda shame looking at all the cool suggestions. Honestly I would have been pretty excited for literally ANY of them.

I guess I'll just ignore ALL THESE 50s I leveled until there's a reason to use them again.
Even the simple task of attaching materia is completely useless because post ilvl50 there are no slots...none.

Daily quests? Could just shorten the timers on Grand Company supply missions.

I'd like to see a system in place where DoH/DoL gets to do something on a grander scale. Perhaps aiding in the construction or reconstruction of towns by providing the necessary lumber and stone or crafting furnishings for the townspeople. Ul'dah's population explosion is ripe for the pickings when it comes to the lore behind it, and it's a great way to keep the classes relevant.

Rewards can include rarer materials, such as the elusive dress material or sailor cotton. It could also include new gear for the DoH/DoL classes to make the climb to 3-star crafting a little bit friendlier (something I'm a strong advocate of anyway). This game has such a beautifully rich crafting system, and I absolutely LOVE crafting. But it feels sorely neglected and only seems to be an afterthought when it comes to updates and additions.

I'm with the OP. Crafters and gatherers need a revolution. I levelled all my crafters to level 50, simply because I enjoyed the climb. But it sure is quiet and lonely at the top.

I believe that FFxiv has tons of potential, I'm enjoying the game immensely, but feel that the crafters might be able to help enrich and enliven the community even more.

You want to involve crafters? Bring back a game that I used to play, EVE-Online, and they have it right. The solution is simple, really. It is so simple, you can smack yourself silly thinking why you didn't think of that.

Solution: STOP HANDING OUT ALL THE GEARS

SE, how about having the game just giving out your no-frill no enhancement gears, and only the crafters are allowed to produce anything better, in ARR's case, the star gears?

The classes needs to depend on each other, and if they aren't needed, they serves no purpose in the game.

Have no played XIV since like Decemberish iirc; so crafting/gathering still does not have a place in XIV?

Why make them a class? If crafting was merely a mini-game; it would be playable akin to XI tetra master or on any job; not a class with abilities.

fish tanks for housing please, that can be stocked with fish you catch! lol then feed decorate and so forth maybe even breed rare fish?
