I guess I'm lucky because I've been playing since launch and the negative encounters I had are probably less than ten in both world & DF/PF. I used to be on leviathan and it was amazing there, and on balmung now and its fantastic.

There are good eggs and bad eggs in this game, you just have to know how to search for them or be patient in searching for them.
Also: you can't spell "ignorant" without "IGN" ... So, there's that.
I LIKE the fence. I get 2 groups to laugh at then.
Almost as amazing as LoL's community.
I know it was like this to begin with, but I think since Commendations and Kick? Feature, this has toned down. I haven't seen abuse at all in DF since then. Of course, the 'being nice' bit is still missing, and often its like being with a bunch of NPCs, just less talkative. But still an improvement over before.lol
"Greatest community of all time"
I don't think they play the game, just interview a few players that want attention.
The constant "Know the fight one derp and you're out" type pf groups?
Everything is instance and pf is server wide.
The constant horror stories of players being forced to skip cutscenes, speed runs, and QQing in dungeons? (Although I don't mind any of those except QQs.)
How does all this promote a great community?
Have you at least seen it get better since these new features were added?
The in-game community seems mostly overwhelmingly awesome. A few shaky moments around level 50, but once you get out the i45-55 range it isn't so bad.
Forum community is almost as bad as League of Legends. Endless complaints about the dumbest stuff...
before you reach lvl 50 it's a great community.
Specially when you get a lvling instance with just people leveling up with you and just having fun going through the dungeon.
...but after 50 that all changes.
I guess they're talking about the 'before' 50 community. And yeah, there's a 'community' before 50... your just too busy rushing the DF on your roulette zenith job.
I have to say, I often do get quite surprised when I read the forums.
By reading it, it gives me the impression that 90% of the community are just dickheads.
My experience since Beta has been the complete opposite.
Since I started, I've run into a grand total of 5 people who fit into the categories that I read here. The rest have been extremely polite and willing to help me out when I tell them I'm new to something.
I'm not saying that there aren't a lot of bad eggs out there, just surprised to hear, considering I haven't seen many.
Be nice if the people being interviewed actually talked during the video.
Been years since using this forum. @_@
Depends on the servers honestly. I think you are going to come across a lot of groups and individuals that are tools in PFs that will be like OMG you died and just raise holy crap about. My first end game run was less than desirable. It was like stop watching cut scenes and you are too slow. Then what really struck a nerve was an elitist @$$hat, was yelling a new level 15 trying to learn how to tank and ended up leaving. Sorry, but the first dungeon and you are QQing about the tank, you have issues honestly, but I was like screw this server, packed up and moved and do not regret a thing. Sure you are going to still run across the elitist groups in DF and sometimes you end up having to join them in PF but I find the server I am on now a bit more fun where people don't really flip out if the newbs watch the cut scenes and what not. Honestly you treat this game like a job you hate, then its going to become just that, a job you hate.
Honestly I don't need to do dungeons much anymore thanks to being a tank, dr bonus, and extremes. DF isn't bad if you know your stuff most of the time. Players only start raging when things don't go smoothly. Commendations probably did help a little but not much. There was a thread about how players were forcing others to kick them out of Blayfox DFs because they don't want to fight the last boss.
Most players only play in their "bubble" so they aren't really doing much content with the community. The game isn't designed that way where you really have to rely on the community for much. Everything is instance and just boss fights. If you look at content descriptions in PF that's more of how the community is really like. You're awesome if you fit in and can "dance" if not, don't join our group.
The community isn't terrible but IGN obviously don't play the game, they just gave players the opportunity to be on camera.
