I prefer static because that means there will always be stuff to do when I cap new classes. If the cap is raised a lot of the content breaks or becomes useless. It's just as possible to create character growth with gear alone and forget ranks after 50.

Monster Hunter 3 Tri is a good example of that.

There's such a screaming lack of content and endgame content that it would be silly to make that useless after it's completed.

Also how rewarding is it to grind 2 levels compared to performing complex tasks to earn better gear? After grinding all the way to the cap the grinding get less and less fun. On my previous character I decided to re-start just because I wanted to experience the climb to the top with more content.

Bottom line there isn't enough content for ranks 1-50 and making that for even bigger will only underline the problem not alleviate it.
