    getting rid od gear/weapon repairs

I see no point in a system that prevents you from playing 100% at your best always in this game. At the moment its not verry bearable but once they lessen the rate at which they will but that still won’t solve the problem. The npc cant 100% repair it for you, looking for someone to repair it for you, put it in your bizarre and hope someone magically comes and finds it to repair it, and the fact you can't sell dmg gear.

I can also understand gear ware because you’re fighting and hitting thing but why does it happen when you craft. I can see the weapon wearing but what the gear you are not doing a darn thing but making an item. Maybe it could the fact you make take slight dmg when crafting but why even take dmg while crafting?

All I see lessening the rate at which anything wares is basically waiting for this one frustrating thing to happen. Some people might say well after gear ware you get to interact with the crafter you find so tell me this how is that fun how is it fun wasting your time looking for a crafter to repair your crap or simply afk bizzaring it. All you want after your gear is worn is basically get it repaired so you can get back to what you were doing that was actually fun or so you can get your item on the marketing system after so you can sell it faster.

For all those people who prefer it over loosing xp like in ffxi because as some have said getting you xp back was to time consuming why? Is it more fun to interact with 1 person or a group of 5+ people? What is truly more fun finding 1 person to repair you items or actually killing mobs with multiple people for more of a chance to make more friends vs. 1 people for repairing?

That was very hard to read.

I dont mind repairs because you only need rk40 on the main repairing classes and your find. I can get anything i want repaired by asking LS

But then again why would I? Gear damn is useless to anything other than a Tank and Weapons/Tools. Why does anyone repair crafting gear its so stupid, its stupid for mages to repair gear too.

    • A better solution is to half the costs of current NPC repairs across the board.
    • Allow NPC to repair back up to 100%
    • But make it so players can repair items to 125%, which could also give a 25% increase in all the items statistical buffs until the items durability dropped back to 100% or less.
    • Allow Players to repair items without needing mats, just skill.

And no to level loss, it doesnt make the game more realistic, it doesn't make the game feel more hardcore when you die, it just makes progress more tedious. If I want to rank some more, I will play one of the 18 jobs in game, nit re-rank my damn character.

    This.
I dont mind repairs but i think this fits perfectly in what i think about it. Also weapons need to be a bit more durable. Its much better since the update but i feel it goes down a LITTLE bit too fast still.

It's not hard getting your gear repaired. There's even a market ward for it. I put my gear up for repair on my retainer and almost every time within the hour, it's repaired. In the meantime I do something else, like craft or rank up another job.

So please do not get rid of equipment durability. It gives crafters a more active role in the world, which is great!

Edit: Also, if you don't want to wait for your gear to be repaired, have two of every weapon. So when one is damaged and needs repair, you can use the other one. It works great! Yea, you gotta buy two of every weapon if you go this route, but it's a technique I use, and it works for me. You can choose to rank up a craft so you can repair your own gear, too, if you pleased.

Really? Crafters make 99% of the items in this game. Their role is plenty large as well as active. Repair doesn't need to go, but it needs an overhaul.

With the new changes to item decay I dont have to repair gear very much at all if i'm using the appropriate level/class.

Heck i've used some gear through multiple classes without repairing it (my second retainer has a bunch of all classes sets at different levels)

Edit: I quit XI because of two and a half things

    1) Getting a group was a real pain/ and you couldnt solo.
    2) Hooray i gained a level, BOOM A LADYBUG KILLED YOU, LEVEL DOWN. It kind of just felt like all my stuff was on lease

I joined XIV because they told me these two things would no longer be an issue, and they arent.

Remove the Durability, replace it with a "Used Status" that is unsellable so that a worn item becomes used and only repairing it from a Crafter can make it "Refurbished" and resellable. Also make Unique/Rare items immune to durability.

I like the gear damage system. Sure, it'd be easier if it wasn't there, but it's a part of the game that adds to the economy and gets people interacting with each other.

One thing I'd like to be able to see is the stat difference the damaged weapon is causing. I'd also like to see items with 0% durability become unusable until being repaired.
