I can't upgrade armor! come on Se

When the game came out we were able to get armor from farming allagan tomes, Which was similar to coil armor. This was amazing for the payer like myself who does not have the time in a day to ever perform coil due to work. Now with the new update it appears we are going to cap at ilvl 100 with the weathered armor. Unless we do coil (Which for many is not possible).

So what is my complaint? Well I am a tank. If I cap at ilvl 100 people will be coming into dungeons with me on DF ilvl 110+. This is going to make holding hate very undoable. For those who disagree,, I remember being in full DL armor. Black mages that were in there allagan armor ripping the hate away from me.

They need to not make coil a requirement to be tied with the best armor in the game if we are willing to pay, and play and do dungeons every single day in the game to grind tomes we should not be penalized as we are now. Does anyone else agree with me? I really find it unfair I’m required to do coil to upgrade

If your not doing coil why do u need best gear ?
Any decent tank should hold hate easily even 10 Ilvls below dps

Black mage dps or other aoe users with 15 I level gear higher does make a big change holding. Will be less wanted in groups as well. I should be able to still farm better armor

You can farm better armor by doing coil. If you have time to cap soldery every week i'm sure you can get one of those days reserve for doing coil with a group of likeminded people.

People in coil always seem to want this day from this time to this time, needing a headset, people who have time for this understand how working is while having a fiance. I have an hour tops on weekdays to play not much more on weekend. What I'm asking is what was wrong with old system

That it rewards same ilevel items for people doing easy things over and over compared to hardest content in the game resulting in people having less desire to do coil? You'll be fine with aggro. I have no problems holding hate before the Shield Oath/Defiance aggro buff.

Ummmmm, pretty sure being able to farm myth was not the reason people opted out of Coil....
The OP's reason is a pretty common one.
I would actually say it's quite the opposite. This change was made to force people into coil, not make up for people who didn't run coil because they could get myth gear.

Plus the gear looks different to show coil from famed gear to show the armor and how you received anyways.

Noone is forcing you into coil. The i100 stuffs is fine the way it is. There's nothing outside of coil that requires you to have i110. And before you say Coil 2 don't require full i110 neither, the team that beats turn 9 has various i110 pieces, mostly the DPS weapons so you DO need some i110 to beat it. All 4 DPS had the i110 weapons to meet the DPS check. Eventually, they'll probably add more ways to obtain the oil and sand of time when the player decides turn 6-8 is easy enough to do.
And I've seen plenty of people quit over capping tomes each week, having no desire to beat coil so yes it's also a common reason why people didn't do coil.

T9 has been beaten with less than i100 tanks (granted they are exceptional players, but still...) so I think you'll be fine in your Weathered gear. Best thing you can do for yourself is get a weapon upgrade from Leviathan or do your Animus as that's going to be the biggest upgrade for threat generation.
