Actually I have 3 characters, one Lalafell which is my main and favorite, one Miqote for fun healing and one Hyur based on my CB character ^^;. I must admit its annoying to lvl up but I made new ones for the reasons OP listed. Cool names, new race and skin tones, body proportions and such were primary reasons to make new characters. Though i will acknowledge that other players focus on progression and won't care about looks like some of us do. Hopefully SE can one day implement this into FFXIV.
