PSA: Failing a FATE for ATMA book requirement...

Just a quick post before I go to bed as a PSA...

I was down here on my WHM waiting for "In Spite of it All" in Central Shroud to pop. It pops. I'm the only one here. I shout for help. I attempt to solo it, but I run out of MP. No one comes.

I ended up failing at about 10%. No credit. I waited for 3 hours.

Really? I don't understand. How are we supposed to clear these obscure FATES if no one comes, and I can't even solo it?

...I don't even... *sigh* SE, why do this to us? I don't mind the grind, but some of these mechanics are just plain stupid.

All I can suggest is either get some friends to tag along or use the party finder to recruit.

No way to solo that on any job. But in my experience, it was the only one out of the 9 books that couldn't be soloed.

Bring a Gysahl Green with you when you know you need to do obscure boss FATEs. I've been able to solo all of them as a White Mage with a low'ish Chocobo DPS (Rank 4) with plenty of time to spare. Some HQ X-Ethers might help too.

But yes, I dread having to do The Four Winds when that time eventually comes. ._.

4 winds can be soloed on mnk or pld. The difficulty is the ones that stoneskin build up resistance. If you alternate silence and stun appropriatly they are easy. The real problem is when there is just enough people to build the resist up but not enough to break ss.

I'm having the same problem as a white mage. I tried a fate yesterday but couldn't do it, so fate failed. Then I did it today with a friend and it spawned quiet fast. And let's say that we did more damage (He was a bard) to the boss in 2 mins than I did in 14
It's unfair to white mages

Another fate was equally hard but luckily two people came who needed to do it too when it had 2 mins left and we managed to complete it.

Now I'm waiting for Everythings Better in east shroud alone. I have waited for an hour now and it hasn't spawned. And if it does I sure hope I can solo it

.....yeah >.> same problem , after 3h waiting ....we were like 5 waiting but guess ppl left to do dungeons/leves/enemies for the book, or logged off bored...

Nope, it cannot be solo'd full stop, you'll either die or run out of time, I could only manage to get the first of the 4 FATE bosses down to 90% health before he almost killed me, and that was with an ilvl93 DRG with Food buffs AND my Chocobo out.

Any other FATE boss I can manage Solo but definitely not The Four Winds.

Also keep in mind difficulty seems to scale with players present at previous kill + players currently in the FATE.

There was a FATE near Drybone that was so buffed it took ~20 players with relics to kill one trash mob (and it took like 20-30 seconds wtf).
