did FF14 fail because they used FF11 as a "beta"

SE team said while working on ffxiv they use a lot of stuff they thought that ffxi players may like so it took them time to find a way to make it work with ffxi system and a few idea did come from it and became leves and behests sadly tanaka did not have time to show the rest of his version which i think would have been great but now we never know.

If it was the "best of ffxi" it wouldnt have failed, while leves are the same as FoV/GoV and from the point of view of somone who doesnt care about lore behest is similar to campaign, it wouldnt have failed as badly because its things the ffxi crowd are used to, alot of people quit cos of no content yet they would FoV and campaign all day with no complaints. and some others quit because its not enough like ffxi.

Leves and behest dont make ffxi a beta for 14, because its 2 things out of many.

Finally Yoshi-P doesnt want to make the game more casual, his view now is casual during the week (when people are working and dont have much time to play) and hardcore during the weekend when people have more time to play. Tanaka wanted to make the game more casual with leves the main way to get SP with the cooldown time, and with fategue which are both going to change in the next few patches
