    did FF14 fail because they used FF11 as a "beta"

    many people have said over and over again that ff11 was always being seen to see what works and not so they can implement it on ff14 "better". but the main flaw thier is that for FF11 they got a niche crowd and then went for the casual gamer for FF14 so what they ultimatly did was test something on the niche players if they liked it, it looked like a good idea and then implemented it into ff14
    i know im confusing but this might be y it failed so hard

    What exactly from FFXI did they implement in FFXIV? I thought it was well-established that FFXIV "failed" because it tried to distance itself from FFXI as much as possible.

    I agree completely and people saying that is just them showing their ignorance towards XI.

    You know all those awesome features XI has? OP yeah well XIV has none of them.

    xiv failed because they designed the game around what they didn't want players doing rather than actually making a good game.

    You say this like ffxiv is exactly the same as 11, which it is nowhere near, yes you can see similaralities but there are similarities between all ff games, just like any game franchise, with your logic ff1 must have been a "beta" for the rest of the series because alot of other ff games are based around saving the world, and saving the crystals.

    just a few things from 11 (they rly dont have much so this is actually most of the game :|)
    leves are just spammable BCNM's with worse rewards
    behest is just an hourly campagin
    same crafting jobs
    same "job" concept just more freedom with it
    outpost teleports ect ect

    leves arent BCNMs because they arent battlefields, they arent designed to get items there designed for sp.

    Behest is about killing all mobs, not defending somwhere, I know the lore is to defend the camp, but if you dont do em mobs dont coverge on the camp. Oh and behest is every 30 mins now, been that way for a few months.

    There arent more crafting jobs, ffxi had the same jobs and most of ff 1-6, so were they all a beta for ffxi?

    The class system is completly differant, if this is the same, that means ffxi has the same job system as ffv because you could equip abilities from other jobs.

    Teleport is a big thing in the ff series, most of them have it, older ones its just to get out of dungeons, then later on it goes on to the exact same as ffxi outpost teleport.

    Appart from races you need somthing that is exactly the same as ffxi to say ffxi was a "beta" for 14.

    what behest is go to this camp monsters specificly for who signed up are spawned and u kill them
    what campaign is go to this camp monsters spawn and go to the camp kill them

    meh on crafting maybe unavoidable copypasta

    FF11 jobs level this job get skills be able to use some of those skills on another job
    FF14 jobs level this weapon get skills you can use any skill on any other weapon

    Leves are the same as FoV/GoV, not BCNMs, and if they were instanced battlefields have been in loads of games.

    With campaign its all about defend the outpost or we loose influance, they are part of the WotG story, kind of, behest is not linked with anything and there are no consiquences if you dont do em, dynamis is go to these markings, go in if you have a glass and kill things, is that the same as campaign or behest?

    As I said in ffv you can level this job and use skills on another job, does that mean before the internet on the SNES that was a "beta" for the ffxi job system, as you say they are the same.

    Its basic ideas that have been in other ff games and what have been in other mmos, most mmos have a go to this place and kill things kind of content.

    By your logic all ff games are "betas" for ffxiv, even the NES and SNES ones.

    The job system has been in all ff games to some extent, even if its not visible, its there.

    Leves are more like fov pages

    have you actually played ff14 OR ff11?
