FFXI fans are all still pining for skillchains. Limit Break is a very lame replacement for them, and I would love for the system to be expanded...not to 'skillchain' complexity necessarily, but something better than 1-botton 1-skill per class.

Well rumor that each job will get a unique animation for their limit break in a future update sometime by 2.35. So I consider this a win!
Thank you!!!
Well skill chains are not limit breaks.
And it's not like "skill chains" can't be introduced as "alliance" combination attack between the 3 limit break usages of the 3 parties or part of its own system later on in one of the expansions.
After the news today that they are actually going to change limit break animations per class/job. I have no more complaints about that. I don't even care when this gets implemented, tbh. Just knowing that it will actually happen is beyond what I expected. All I can say is thank goodness!

Just... all of that. =-)
Personal job limit break.
It wasn't in the PLL or the Battle talk event if I remember correctly.
But someone did ask about personal job limit breaks, and YoshiP told I think it was Takai-san about this and Takai-san was joking around saying "Does that mean I need to come in to work on Monday?" They may be actually working on this one.
Edit: Nvm, found it on another thread.

Hello, everyone!
During the NicoNico Chokaigi 3 event that took place this past weekend, Yoshi-P mentioned that the team would be looking into giving each class their own unique limit break animation.![]()

I still wish they'd add a second Limit Break option... And really, a ranged Limit Break isn't even that hard to implement. Just make it a carbon copy of the current DPS Limit Break with an added repel effect (basically just a bigger Repelling Shot, or even just Apex Arrow from XI (Repelling Shot followed by jumping back forward)). None of the balance issues of a ranged Limit Break with all the satisfaction, you're welcome Yoshida.
Ideally though, every Job having two Limit Breaks would just make things more interesting. Slap Paladin with a Healer Limit Break as well, while Warrior gets the DPS Limit Break. Bard gets Healer and "Ranged" Limit Break. Scholar gets Healer and Tank Limit Break (since damage mitigation is their thing). White Mage gets Healer and Mage Limit Break (LB3 would look something like Alexanders attack in IX). Things become a bit more hazy with DPS, but to me that's just reason for the developers to develop more types of Limit Breaks. Crowd Control ones, Enfeebling ones, Damage boost ones... All would be great. No mage for Ifrit? No problem, Dragoon pops their second Limit Break giving everyone increased damage to take the fetters down faster (or Limit Break one as currently done). Adds so much more depth to the game...
Limit Breaks were definitely one of the more disappointed aspects of ARR for me, variety in their animation is the minimum I asked for (or demanded) so this is great news though, I just hope they continue to look into expanding the system, because it's currently wasted potential.
