    An idea concerning Duty Roulette

after seeing so many threads lately calling for harsher punishments on those who chose to leave dungeons they dont like on the roulette i had a idea that might help solve the problem with out adding even more punishments that would only serve to lessen the amount of people who actually queue for the roulette

can we please separate the roulette's into a "Long" and "Short" dungeons, there is really no logical reason why an instance such as ifrit story mode should share the same reward as stone vigil or cutters cry. one instance take 5 minutes to complete and is virtually impossible to fail. the other takes at least an hour and has no guarantee of success.

i suspect that more often than not, the people leaving the instances early wouldnt have been so quick to bail had they had an option to choose whether or not they wanted to do a quick and easy dungeon or one that is considerably more difficult

obviously the rewards for all roulette's would need to be adjusted but i think this would be a more fair and reasonable solution then just adding more rules and stricter penalties

Depending on the group, short dungeons can become longer and way more tedious than they have to be. The longer dungeons can also become shorter with a competent group of people. It's not a bad idea but I don't think it would solve anything, tbh.

I don't think they leave only because it is long. I think some of them leave because of gear of fellow players and so on. Some players even have specific jobs they think can do certain content and if it is not those jobs they bail.

As far as the roulette is concerned people shouldn't be expecting high end gear or the "ideal" roles, but they do. If they want the perfect setup then there's the Party Finder tool for this purpose.

While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable.

i never leave because of gear unless the gear is exceptionally bad, like 20+ ilvls below the dungeon for example. in that case i feel leaving is justified. nobody should be forced to endure grouping with players that are lazy about their gear. poorly geared tanks make the healers job more difficult, poorly geared healers make everyones job more difficult, and poorly geared dps might as well not even be there because they arent contributing to the success of the run. ive seen dps in AK wearing lvl 38 gear and tanks in SV wearing lvl 15 stuff. im sorry but im just not going to put myself thru that

on the subject of time however, there have been occasions where ive had to leave the dungeon early or at the start if i knew i wouldnt be able to finish it. i have a job where i am on call and could get called in at any time. an option for shorter roulettes with obviously less rewards would be a nice option
