The glamour tiers actually make a LOT of sense, it creates a better market. If it was just 1 instead of 5 for each class of item, the market prices would be much less stable. They'd be either too high or too low and probably keep around that. splitting it up allows more market opportunities and less flooding. With no tiers we're talking 5 times more merchants in each class of prism.

The clear prisms... yeah, no tier on them would be WAY better. I carry a full load of them and it's a hassle on my limited inventory space (I consider 5 slots open to be normal, 10 is a VERY spacious for me).

Bet you're just a barrel of laughs at parties.

I've made loadsamoni selling prisms for exorbitant prices so I'd say it's a great success.

Actually, as long as the projected item can be dyed, you can easily dye the glamoured item without using another prism. Just bring up the item submenu on the glamoured base item. Dye should be an option -if- the projected item is dyeable. I use this to change the color of the projected Patrician's bottom that I use for several jobs and nearly all of the base items are undyeable tome items. Meanwhile I haven't had to dye the actual Patrician's bottom at all.

As for my own opinion of the system: Except for the class limitation on projected gear, I mostly love it. It's especially great for those in-between phases while farming better gear sets. You no longer have to look like you got dressed in the dark. Unless that's your kind of thing.

I only wish we could use any gear for vanity so long as it followed the slots occupied and ilvl rule. As mentioned the rule requiring the projected gear to be wearable by the job short changes DoM. And I would absolutely love to wear some of our crafting "AF" to fight bad guys in.

Only if we can also use paladin AF as armorer, I guess.
I think it would be much better if SE just bring some new crafted gear that look similar enough to be useable, but not exactly the same.

What I really want are more items intended purely for glamor which are designed for lower level crafters, so that people can enjoy their benefits without having to be a master at every craft. It needs to be more open to entice people to craft, or at the very least to make these glamor items more accessible to people. Save the nicest outfits for the 3-star recipes by all means, but I dearly want to see them put a bit more thought into the concept.

I think it does the job, but still feel disappointed that it wasn't more fleshed out and in line with the standard of other MMOs which have vanity systems/tabs.

They really need to fix the 4 slot/2 slot armour pieces, Odin, Chocobo suit, reindeer suit etc so we can actually use them.

My only problem is that you can glamour gear from another grand company.
I switched from twin adder to the maelstrom, got to max rank for the spear, officer gloves and legs, and glamoured them, switched back to twin adder and found out the glamour didn't stay.
And none of this was mentioned as a restriction, except that your class could equip it.

Other than that I am fine with it.

...and this is from a dedicated weaver who already has all her crafts at 50 and her master book.
I think SE decide the recipe level after the look of the gear. The better it looks, the higher the needed recipe level. Or would you want to wear a dress that look like someone made it who just started to learn the craft (something made with hempen clothe)?

I'm glad to have SOME form of a vanity system, but I'm not fond of it. It should have just been a separate vanity tab where you put the look you want to have on, and then you always have that look, regardless of armor changes.
