Gazing into Grimoires Galore

Greetings, grimoire worms!

With the amount of time spent in front of grimoires as arcanist, summoner, and scholar you may have thought to yourself, "Every grimoire seems to have the same content--I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!" Well, this isn't exactly the case and I'd like to drop a bit of knowledge about this that I read in a book (okay I lied it's from the Lore Team!).

Many grimoires can be wielded by arcanists, scholars, or summoners. However, each grimoire is tailored to a single profession, which can be determined by examining its contents.

Arcanist grimoires contain geometric symbols that shape and direct the power of arcanima; summoner grimoires contain incantations used to call forth and command primal egi; scholar grimoires contain a wealth of tactics and stratagems which can be applied during battle.

Each grimoire will display one of these three patterns when opened. However, we’ve heard your requests for more variety, and will relay them to the art team. Thanks for the feedback!

From what I can tell, it seems to be gibberish. I spent quite a while staring at the contents of the Ars Notoria (iirc) and an Eorzean font chart trying to decipher it and got nowhere.

it would be nice it they could add that too. i love the casting incantations before the spells goes off... i guess macros are the only way to go

I think there's actually a second "gibberish font" SE uses at certain levels.

There are sections of the Map of Eorzea that feature the same anomalous, nonsensical symbols as the books.
