Quest: A relic reborn (Gae Bolg)

I have a melded champion's lance - quest log shows that i'm 1/1 and Gerolt has proper guest sign above his head. However, Gerolt won't except the melded weapon. This is my 6th relic so have done this before but seems to be lancer specific.

Hi, I think it's supposed to be 2 savage aim III materia, not 3 savage aim II materia melded. (someone please correct me if I am wrong!)

Yes, quest calls for 2 but 3 is still supposed to work - like submitting a hq version. Gerolt and quest log are registering that I have the correct item for quest but he doesn't except - so one way or another there is something wrong. If he doesn't except a 3 meld item, then the quest marker should be red and log saying 0/1

Bolded so perhaps you see it this time. The problem isn't that you have an extra meld, it's that they're the wrong tier of materia.

If you look at the log on the side it says 'materia enhanced champions lance' you have a materia enhanced lance so it looks like it is complete. However as stated above you have the wrong materia. You need 2 IIIs not 3 IIs. You will have to start over with a new lance
