    Kuwagami beat me to it... Kingdom Hearts was DESIGNED THAT WAY, and personally I think it suffered for it, personally I found the Kingdom Hearts series insufferable.


    to cut it off at the pass, Annoyingly Cutesy, Not enough of an original concept to really sustain two Multinational Companies Iconic Characters being mashed up, Original characters were dishwater dull. Chip and Dale my favorite old Disney cartoon characters (Rescue Rangers is good but not as good as the old shorts) barely featured as more than turtorial help. Over reliance on Disney's properties, and SE didn't step out of the Final Fantasy box much when they actually have far more franchises that could have been interesting to add in. and Nightmare Before Christmas is the MOST overrated Disney movie EVER! these are just a few of my problems with it)

    Pretty sure FFXIV was designed that way as well, unless you're calling all of this one amazing coincidence. I'm pretty sure Yoshi-P mentioned his purposeful use of fan service in this game in one of his letters (back during 2.0 beta).

    yeas but so far he's been going with the; '"Good" Fanservice: Oblique references, side characters thrown in that give you a chuckle when you notice them, maybe even a few of the MID-bosses NAMES being used, one time events that come and go once maybe twice like the XI and XIII event...'

    rather than the; '"Bad" Fanservice: Direct shoehorning of characters from previous tittles into the Main Story just because they were popular... along time ago, adding The Big Bad from other games just to scream "HEY! REMEMBER THIS? WASN'T THIS COOL! LOVE MEEEE! LOOOOOVE MEEEE!"'
