Please explain then how Kingdom Hearts was bad fanservice, since most of the main characters from previous FF games were in it, including Sephiroth. I know the comparison is a stretch, but I'm pretty sure it's the same concept on a much grander scale.

cmon... KH IS a full fan serv game with SE and disney... It was designed that way, it wouldn't even exist if it wasn't the case. Also, apart from Sephiroth who appears twice as a boss, all FF characters only appears for a few mins and then disappear from the story. They don't even have any sort of importance... Leon, Yuffie, Cloud ? Bah, no importance at all.

Not to get off topic, but that's plainly because the FF characters couldn't change worlds, and the game's story is world based. When ever you had to visit worlds multiple times (e.g. All the worlds in KHII) you the FF characters were again story relevant.

To be fair, I'm not even sure what how that's relevant seeing as Zack never appear outside of KHBBS (and they could have added something too since both Zack and Cloud were in the coliseum).

It's extremely relevant seeing as how Zack is a character that stuck around for more than a few minutes and impacted the main storyline. Read the quote.

Also how is KHBBS any different than KH? Is it not canon or something? Lol

Wow, it was awesome to wake up and see so many replies to my first thread this morning XD

All in all, I get both sides of the argument, and I will say this. I think it would be an awesome fight/addition to the game, but I definately agree that it would need to be done tastefully and with no direct reference storywise to VII (Heck, even that could probably be done right, since we've already seen instances where different titles take place in the same universe - Final Fatasy VII and X, look it up if you don't beleive me).

NO - We should not add Sephiroth, I think thats going a tad too far.

Regardless of how you feel, I will put money on the fact that if any sort of content like this were added (optional or not), everyone on this thread would still play it and enjoy it like we've enjoyed the rest of the game so far XD

Dunno about that. I was so bored about the protagonists in KH 1 and about the obvious lack of lore-wise reason about that all-star thing that I just stopped when sephiroth came in the arena. I ended the storyline only because I don't like to let a game unfinished. ^^


Anyway, on subject : I wouldn't mind, all in all, a fight with a foe reminding us JENOVA. It would just need 2 things.

An other name. Because JENOVA is just *NO*

Few gimmicks and lore which would automatically ring "OMG it's her !" in our minds. Like, dunno, some fusion with regular monsters to create doped beasts which could ressucitate her at some point. Things like that.

Reason you stopped at sephiroth you couldn't win him.

I thought it was cool as hell sometimes I wish they added more stuff from old games, I would fight some bosses from saga series or secret of mana.

Really ? (actually, I never even tried sephiroth. heard after that is was the hardest boss in game. Bah)
Secret of mana would be cool as an event if they took the time to get a well fitting lore (Julius would be awesome maybe.. sword of mana <3). But not as a definitive boss in game. Seiken =/= FF

Yes, I can agree with that, tastefully done, it could work. Maybe they could name it JeBROva, and make it a male version of Jenova :P

Joking aside, I'm not particular to which enemies or references they make in this game, I love almost everything FF has had to offer, as long as it fits in to the lore and doesn't turn the game into a complete nostalgia fest (Not that I would mind because I personally enjoy those things, but it seems like there are a ton of people that are really sensitive to the issue and I'd prefer the entire community to have the same general consensus).
