Careful what you wish for. You do realize this entire game is based on lore from the entire series, not just this title on it's own? If we didn't have things like Primals, Moogles, Chocobos, etc. this wouldn't really be a Final Fantasy game.

Lightning, Shantotto and Gilgamesh are all characters from previous games who are capable of transporting through different dimensions. JENOVA doesn't have this capability and really doesn't fit into Eorzea/Hydaelyn. I like some of the cameos they've made (Biggs and Wedge) but something as significant to the plot as JENOVA was to FF7 I don't think they really need to make an appearance here.

I do agree with you to some extent, but it could still be done. After all we're playing a game that contains cat people, slug-like rabbits, little green creatures wielding kitchen knives and lanterns, etc. Logic doesn't really need to apply here lol There is a line, though and some things probably shouldn't be added. That said this is a Final Fantasy game and almost anything is possible if they go about it the right way.

Jenova (ジェノバ, Jenoba?) is an extraterrestrial life-form
Once Jenova lands upon a planet it will destroy every form of life it finds. Jenova can absorb its prey's memories and form, hiding as their loved ones to destroy them.
Once Jenova has destroyed a planet it uses it as a vessel to travel the cosmos to another planet.
Approximately two thousand years ago, an alien creature landed on Gaia, having traveled through space on a meteor.

Jenova can very well make it's way into the game, not hard, and won't conflict with Eorzea lore at all seeing as how it's an extraterrestrial being

Am I the only one that feels like this should be a thing? JENOVA needs to be somewhere in this game as an 8 man boss fight, preferrably in Coil.

I love the idea of previous bosses making their way into this game. What's great about them is that they are OPTIONAL! Debbie Downers who don't like it don't have to participate.

Could be cool if, as you fight her through her phases, she shifts into her different forms.

Absolutely not. It's bad enough we got FF13 crammed down our throats, we don't need FF7 too. I don't mind them reusing obscure bosses but not main bosses.
