Playing on PS4- is it really better to get a USB keyboard?

Sadly I'm on Sargatanas, but I hope you have a good time in the game! A new keyboard shouldn't be expensive, I'm using one that around 20$.

Providing you have Android or Apple, you can always install the PS app and use the keyboard option in second screen to type. Unfortunately, you still have to bring up the interface so the app knows you want to type, but its still quicker than the controller. Decided to give it a go as I would try to reply to something, then come off the chat log and find either everyone have moved on or the subject had completely changed.

I DO have a Nexus 7 and the PS app- I'll give that a try, too. I hadn't thought about the fact that it has a keyboard! Thanks!

UPDATE:
So I used the PS app on my nexus 7 and it does work as a keyboard, but if you're not using it heavily the connection will time out after a couple of minutes. It'll do in a bind but I went ahead and ordered a regular ol' USB keyboard. If I get it on time I'll be trying it out tomorrow.
