Feedback on the Easter Event (Hatching Tide)

Since the event is almost over I think now is a good time to provide feedback regarding this event.

I honestly liked and disliked it. I liked the pairing up with friends and carrying eggs part. It was silly but fun and the egg hats/barding are ok. Standard stuff.

However, the "search for hidden monster" part was terrible. It spawns in the exact spot each time, 1-2 people just camp it, and the reward is usually glamor prisms or a bit of gil. (Based on what I say you could basically make the same amount of gil just completing your challenge log.) It reminds me of old MMOs where people would camp bosses and others would never get a chance to kill them. In such a modern game it seems silly to have this type of system.

    My suggestions would be:
    1. No more camping monster who spawns in the same place event
    2. If you're gonna have monsters spawn, have them spawn more frequently in RANDOM places. None of this same coordinate nonsense.
    3. Please no more FATEs in seasonal events, I think people already have their eyes bleeding from atma grinding.

What does everyone else think? Anyone have other suggestions/feedback?

Personally I loved the egg delivery parts ,they were fun , and of course the finding right route first time only to get caught by a spriggan lol
I do I agree about the hidden monsters part, the kobold daily area one, two or three people would literally just sit there the whole time, so most wouldn't even know about the spriggan.
Also YES no more seasonal events FATE based

I just did all the quests now left it till the last minute been playing to much ESO lately lol.

I liked the quests they were different then most quests and having to do it with other people is social I was worried I wouldn't find people to do it with as I left it so late but it wasn't hard to find people.

As for the fate part I didn't do that wasn't sure what the point of the bronze silver and gold eggs were?

All I got from eggs was prisms for glamour so I don't think a lot worried about them

I think you get either a lot of gil (some people reported 50k allagan pieces?), glamor prisms or a rare crafting item. So yea it was pretty pointless but at the same time it's like "well why can these campers get it but I can't" kinda thing.

I really enjoyed the quests, although I feel that you shouldn't be forced to party up with people on the same part of the quest as you are; it should just be anyone who wants to party up with you. There were a lot of people I noticed (myself included) who missed a part and waited 20+ minutes for a single person to party up with. It's not a major complaint, but it would certainly help out others who, for whatever reason, missed out sections of the quest line. I feel really bad for anyone who waited until now to do it... getting four people is gonna be pretty hard for them at this point.

As for the egg hunt, I enjoyed the initial hunt, but once I found all of the La Noscean Spriggan locations I would just make my rounds every few hours to see if someone took them out. I only encountered the free-for-all FATE once by pure luck, and it was really fun trying to get as many Spriggans with four other people competing for them. I've never seen the boss FATE, so I can't comment on it.

The Bronze Egg rewards were suitably okay, getting some low-tier materia, prisms, and bronze coins. I haven't opened any Silver, so I can't comment on those. The Gold rewards, from what I hear, were largely great, although I only ever got Platinum Allagan Pieces (10,000 gil at a vendor).

If I could suggest some changes, I'd like to see the egg hunt literally become an egg hunt. Throughout the map there would be eggs--maybe 30 or so--that respawn in random locations on each map, maybe every two hours or so. They wouldn't have a sparkle or any noticeable indicator, and they would be small to the point that you'd need to zoom in your camera to get a good look at one. The distribution would be something like 25 Bronze Eggs, 4 Silver Eggs, 1 Gold Egg. Keep the Spriggans, but have it so only a few spawn when all the eggs in a map are collected, give them absurdly high Evasion, and make it so they run about at a Sprint speed over the map. A little elaborate, yeah, but it'd be fun to see a bunch of players chasing after a Spriggan who keeps dodging every single attack, haha! They'd drop Silver Eggs, and if all of them are downed within, say, 10 minutes, the boss Spriggan will appear as a FATE and defeating him will net a Gold Egg.

I never even completed the first quest where you needed to team up with 1 other person. I have no friends and when I shouted a few times nobody responded. Tried a few times on different days and never got it done so I gave up on it. No plans on going back to try and finish it up. Will be the first holiday event I didnt finish.

The people you party up with don't need to be on the same part of the quest as you. The other people won't be able to see the quest but it doesn't matter. As long as you can talk to the npc who tells you where to go find the eggs and bring your own egg back, then you have satisfied the quest. On Malboro we regularly have people standing outside the amphitheatre offering to party up with anyone who needs it. I've done the 4th part like 10 times now.

I liked the Spriggans. Everything has a spawn point. And although they were camped on the first days, I've run into them a few times just on my way to fishing, with no campers in sight. And what they dropped weren't anything unique. So you didn't NEED to find them, it was just a nice reward if you did. And even though they were tied to FATEs, it isn't really fair to call them FATE events. Again, you didn't need to complete them. And when the FATE popped I wasn't looking at it as a FATE. I was looking at it like the little jerks were multiplying, I didn't have to level sync. It was really only a FATE in name.

Huh, then that makes absolutely no sense with the nature of the quest, but I won't complain since it resolves one of my issues. I could've sworn that the only way to turn the quest in was to have all of the eggs dropped off, then both players could turn it in.
