Maybe a Silly Question about Party Finder

So I'm not the best at dealing with rude folks in dungeons or raids. When I say that, I mean I don't have as tough of skin as some other folks when people are rude to me, or get angry because it's my first time in the dungeon or raid. Now by no means does this mean that I start crying, whining, or rage quite, but it does make me really uncomfortable and takes the fun out of the instance. I just unlocked all the HM dungeons and I seem to get a lot of folks complaining that I have no idea what I'm doing, despite the fact it's my first time.

Now for my question: is it frowned upon for any reason for me to go into Party Finder, and explain in the description that I'm wanting a party for "X" dungeon, but that I'm new to it, and looking for a friendly group to run it with?

Or would I be spinning my wheels with that? I'm sure to a degree I'll have to just suck it up at some points when it comes to rude players, but I'd like to give myself a bit of an edge by at least gathering my own party with the like-minded people.

As always, thanks for any and all help and advice!

Better to ask silly questions than make silly mistakes.

I'm in your shoes, and I play a tank. I get a lot of the snark (and if not that, DPS just start ignoring me), and I'm at the point where I want to stop using the Duty Finder for the mid-high level instances altogether and get onto the party finder instead to do exactly what you are asking about.

So go for it, get on the Party Finder and ask for exactly what you're after.

It is perfectly acceptable to use the party finder to learn a dungeon. In fact, I would encourage it if that's what you find to be the most comfortable way to play. I'm almost certain there would be plenty of others that would appreciate a group of like-minded individuals who are newer to the harder content in the game so they don't feel pressured to perform beyond their current level of understanding. I find that a lot of these players are too shy or, perhaps, a little embarrassed to ask for help out of fear of being ridiculed by others. Keep in mind that, while at times they might seem to be the most vocal, the toxic players are indeed the minority.

If I might make a suggestion, I would recommend that you watch some video guides on Youtube so that you are at least somewhat aware of some of the more esoteric mechanics you might encounter in these dungeons. However, I certainly understand the appeal of going into a dungeon with no prior knowledge. It can be fun to figure stuff out on your own. All of this being said, The devs do a great job of providing you with the tools to play how you want to play; it's just up to you to use them.

    Best of luck to you!
