    [Suggestion] Mages conversion

I can see how our comunity is afraid at mages conversion. Who will be WHM and BLM? THM or CON?

The fact is: allowing both jobs to be Damage Dealers or Healers, mixing them on same class will dissapoint lots of people that leveled up CON or THM like a Healer or DD, and in 1.19 they become what they didnt want to be.

The only posible solution i can see, is to create a Quest for them, and as reward, you can choose what mage faction u want to join, BLM, WHM (or RDM if aviable)

if they plan to completely erase CON and THM, the quest should be automatically activated when someone logs in with these jobs or change class, and of course have to allow to be done at any level (just talk to NPCs or kill enemies same level as your character)

    Opinions?

Better let us choose what we want to play

White Mage, Black Mage, Red Mage, Blue Mage, Summoner

Honestly I think all they need to do is just let us know which jobs are tied to which classes to:

    A) Let people get all the whining and complaining out of the way.

    B) Allow people to level the appropriate class so that they can hopefully use the job of their choosing by the time they come around.

Seriously... I know these are work in progress, but at this point they should at least know which job will be tied to which class.

they shouldn't lock Job to Class for DoM

better let us choose freely and can be switch

or they'll have no class left to lock them to the future mage classes (Blue Mage, Summoner, etc)

Except if the Famitsu fan translation is anything to go by there will be jobs unlocked by multiple classes. Also who's to say they can't release more classes to accommodate more jobs?

I love this whole "they better do this or else" mentality some of you throw around on these forums. Who are you trying to threaten exactly?

I think another solution would be to allow people to reallocate ranks, like we do stats (but just as a special one-time thing). That way, I could choose to put my 31 ranks in THM to CON, since I like healing.

Maybe it's not that practical, but then again, neither is cutting off all the healing THMs from their necessary spells.

Just because they will have either con > whm , thm > blm (for example). Doesn't mean you're FORCED to play those jobs.

You can stay thm / conj and just play like you always have, which retain both there nuking / healing potential without restricting your abilities. They never said they were going to force you to have to abandon your current generic class.

Although you will lose the 'exclusive' skills and 'if' implemented Gear tied to either "WHM" or "BLM". But if you dont want to nuke you wont really care, or vice versa for healing.

This does not sound practical. Yoshida has been saying that the Job system is specifically designed for strategic/heavy party play while the class system will be there for soloing, ranking up and light party play. It seems unlikely that you'll be able to just "forego" the Job system whenever you want because you don't want to lose the versatility.

Of course I can't say that for sure that I'm right and you can't say you're right either at this point, it's too early to tell.
