According to the lore, Magitek technology is part of a past conflict in the North.
I remember reading plenty pre-release about how the Northern countries will play a big role in game expansions.

perhaps as a mount, but almost certainly in relation to an instanced storyline mission etc,
I can see players getting to ride Magitek.
The premise is already built into the game.

Given it is a concept that cannot be introduced until development gets that far, which is solidly 2-3 years away,
But it is legitimate.

Hey, they have the Magitek Armor System in XIII Versus(Video). Sure, Versus is a console game, but at least they've got the Idea haven't they? Could take the Idea from there, change it a bit and it'll go with XIV
