Using a keyboard with ps4

What exactly are you doing? Click the input in the chat bar try and type /p /l /fc whichever then type out what you want to say? Do you have direct chat enabled? That will automatically input what you type into the chat bar when you start typing. Without this you will have to do what I previously mentioned. I'm using a cheap logitec keyboard and its had no problems.

It's usually what throws people when they plug in a USB keyboard and then it doesn't work. It does, but I believe that the standard setting has Direct Chat turned off, meaning the keyboard is used for controlling the character.

Turn Direct Chat on, and whenever you press a key, it'll automatically start typing in the chat box.

I actually have direct chat turn off when using a keyboard in tandem with my controller on a PS4.
Having it turned off allows me to use the hot keys and I only have to hit enter to start chatting, exactly like what you would do if playing on a PC and want to type.

If direct chat is off the keyboard will definitely still work on a PS4.
