Foe Requiem is nice to use if their is a blm and Army's patheon is a desperate song, but never do i use them. At most always only use Mage's Ballad and only when healers are bellow half
For tp Bards can use Invigorate as can dragoon, really is about management

Foe is really useful in dungeon when the tanks is taking mob and there is a BLM.Best example can be seen at Brayflox i think.My blm(i90 almost full myth +leviathan staff) pulled 2 flare at 2k8 damage on multiples mobs.Actually if there is no need of Mp song ,foe is the best if you got a BLM/SMN.We did 4min52 on a speed run at brayflox and this number could have been improved if a BLM with more gear had my place(BLM is not my main class,i don't buy anything for him)
Foe is also great during raids IF you know you're not going to need the MP song soon.We use it at T6,if there is no unecessary damages,it really up the dps as hell.
Peon is pretty much useless i think if a melee or a BRD is having problem with his PT,he's having way too much SS or he doing stupid rotations.

In final i would say:Priority to MP SONG ,only FOE if you know you're not going to need the MP for ballad soon.

Just want to share a story.
A DF Party was fighting the boss of a 50 HMdungeon,
the tank was soft and the dps were low, healer OOO bcoz tank needed non-stop healing but the dps killing very slow.
And then, the brd with GC bow refused the request of ballard and said "it is a dps race"
Then they kept losing the dps race till timed up.

To be fair, you can usually run Ballad for a while just off of a good ether unless the timing is exceptionally bad. Granted, that assumes you're not using a DEX potion, but I don't think I've ever needed both Foe and a pot within the same run like that, anyway.

There are few situations where a healer will need ballad. Provided the healer has decent MP management.

Playing ballad when not needed just hurts the overall group's dps. Most bad bards I see overuse songs and think they always need to sing.

I've got all the songs macroed to a /p and will play them when requested or when we call for it in the strategy behorehand. The one thing I note is I'll play mages if I see a whm drop below 2500 and we're not like at the end of the battle - just to top them up. Scholars I expect to yell out when they need the topup or when I see them hitting 1000. I tend to save battle voice for rez of heals or when I see we're in bad shape but can still finish it.

Army's I'll play on request - since I don't see ppls TP and my own TP gauge is worthless since by the time most are hitting 200TP I'll have probably invigorated twice - or be near to it. And usually it'll be a warrior that asks for TP in certain situations.

Foe - we'll if there is a blm then sure makes sense but often than not running without a BLM anyway.

So yeah if asked will run any song even if it doesn't make much sense.
