Atma crap luck - is this normal?

I know there's already loads of thread discussing this, but this is something I've been wondering...

I've been farming atma mostly at Lower La Noscea for more than 3 weeks every day. Even tried to rezone like farming at somewhere else. But until now, this place never dropped atma.

Oddly, certain zone like Middle La Noscea are quite easy to drop atma. Already got more than one there.

Is this normal? Alot of friends already got theirs from this place except me.

Great way to farm FATE achievements though... ^^;

With a 2-3% drop rate you never know how RNG will treat you. Part of it is the size difference in zones too. The larger the zone, the more of a pain it is to grind in.

zone kinda small-ish to me, at least... compared with the old 1.0. Had little problem running back & forth, also with nailing Gold most of times.

As for RNG, who knows... It does make lotta waste of time for me. Just hoping it wasn't as bad as back in old version where I nailed my 1st Ifrit weapon after more than half years spamming the fights. lol

And on a bit not-so related trivia, I do also nailed my Allagan caster body after roughly half years too. So I guess RNG might not changed much.

Oh... and I think the drop rate percentage might be way lower than that. Already done hundreds of FATE on that zone alone. ^^;

I had farmed it for about 4 hours yesterday and no luck. Took a break and went to central thanalan to try and got mine after 7 fates. =/ That atma is being a pain for me too. Hang in there.

Its lower la noscea and southern thanalan for me. I just cant get a drop.

Took me around 5-10 hours in Southern Thanalan to get my ATMA. I think I went through 3 full 8 man parties and watched every one of them get their ATMA's before me.

If the intention of this Atma grind was to put me off EVER running a Fate quest again I'd say it's working as intended...
