Cell phone app for duty finder, can it be done?

While using my security token to log in today (iPhone app) I thought to myself, man would be nice of this thing rang when my DF queue was ready.

After thinking a bit more on it, if we have the libra app why not SE? If a 6 number password can be transmitted from a server somewhere to my phone that instantly works why can't a server ring my phone and tell me my duty finer queue is ready?

The technology is clearly there, it'd for sure make this game more enjoyable (for me at least) and would almost certainly reduce the numbers of 'member has withdrawn' due to time-outs.

How difficult would something like this be to implement? I personally would PAY for this app, I'm sure many others wouldn't mind dropping a few dollars into an application that provided such a service as well.

Ha ha, I suggested this in a sarcastic thread a while back of other things SE could try to sell to us, but I think if they did it, it would be a text message, so you wouldn't pay for a one time app, you would pay per text, they would make more that way, and be able to buy more of their Hello Kitty memorabilia.

Because no code is transmitted to you at all. That's not how tokens work.

Oh it's totally possible. A third party, Guildwork, has already made something that does that... Though it's probably against the ToS.

The que times really aren't that bad anymore.

Also, if you'd rather be doing anything else than playing the game whilst your que loads, then maybe you don't like the game as much as you thought?

If you happen to be a PS3 player, you'll be very happy to know that if/when you upgrade to PS4, the queue sound will ring through the controller and not the TV. it would be a nice little convenience if there was an app for this for PS3/PC players.
